I believe there is a vegetable garden on Veracruz already. We will be fine.
As for the uninvited guests, Hessians and Corsairs are the only ones able to show up in force. I have no doubt scouts or individual runners from the Core or the Coalition will also make use of the route, but they are in no position to actually contest the territory.
I would not expect an actual conflict to brew there, though. The anomalies are all barely usable, and Omega-55 has little of value other than junk for the scrappers at Bornholm to chew through. That said, the Junkers might try and exploit the new connection to pick through the graveyards left behind by the Insurgency.
We'll be sure to show them the way out if they try.
Last bit's music to my ears. I'll have routine patrols done just to make sure nobody's taking up refuge under both our noses. If we ever find anything - you'll know.
Little has changed since our last chat, in terms o' who is doing what. Had our hands full with other various issues, but seeing as it isn't around your home ah won't bother you with details.
As a heads up, Barrier Gate Station has been seeing a lot of activity now that it's so close to a few major holes. Lots of Outcasts doing the Barrier Pass and even a few corporate runners trying to take short cuts. Normally I'd not mention them to keep their liberated goods for ourselves, but it's starting to become a nuisance. Especially with t' Republic breathing through the zone.
A familiar face, three years and no call though. Am I to understand that your admission of this fact you'd usually keep to yourself is a subtle request for assistance? If so, I'd be glad to set corpos on fire and split the goods with your compatriots on the Gate.
Stop being so dramatic. It's only been a little over a year. Y'best take your snide comments and-
She paused, a look to the side. After a muffled sound from off camera a sigh is let out.
If y' want to come, then do so. Honestly I never said which republic I was speaking of now that I think of it. They're basically the same one these days anyway.

One of my operatives recently shot down a DSE security ship in Vespucci. During this routine response that same operative discovered the existence of a new installation in the system. It goes by the name of Tijuana Freeport.
We have not made any attempt at contact just yet. But I would presume that it fully intends to try and exploit its namesake by opening the doors to all and sundry. Obviously this is far from ideal given the persistence of former Legionnaires that have sided with the Technocracy.
I would recommend we act. But given your stake in the system and recognised custodianship over Veracruz, I felt it proper to gauge your intent first. For all I know you might have permitted the construction of this base subject to certain terms.

The base has not been authorized by our side. An investigation is in order, no doubt. But unless the base is proven to be a staging ground for the turncoats, I'd question whether it is worth the time and munitions spent knocking it over.
My name is Jacob Mason, head of the small exploration group thats set up our home in the Freeport here. My group and I are freelance explorers who seek out the interesting reaches of the sector and chart what is to be found out there, and warn of any dangers like dying stars or new navigation hazards.
I assure you Sir, we are not out here to cause harm to anyone, merely to provide navigation and refueling assistance to those entering the less explored reaches. Our operation isnt sponsored by any large house funding foundation or anything of the sort. On the contrary, we haven't much interest in already well charted space.
You may ask why we chose such a location, and I shall answer ahead, rumors persist of a jump anomaly that leads to completely unknown space here, and that new unstable anomaly that directs to the Omegas. We came to chase these rumors and see if whats on the other side is a danger to us all or not.
I ask that you forgive our perceived tresspass, as there seemed to be nothing around when we first arrived barring decaying, years old wrecks and derelict facilities. The only thing of note we found on arrival was a luxury liner, staring very intently at a barren moon.
If there is anything more you require or wish to know about, do inquire! I shall respond as quickly as possible.
Regards,
Jacob Mason, Head of Exploration
Tijuana Freeport
Naturally, I am inclined towards skepticism as to how simplistic their intent in Vespucci is. So I will accordingly order my Adjutant handling the matter to propose harsh terms. Things such as no entry to Technocrats or self-styled Legionnaires, but also mandatory open access to our ships.
While I have the line open, are there any other terms you would like us to include?
