There is plenty of that here - and while two zoners on their own probably shouldn't come to blows, it makes perfect sense in both the spirit of the rules and the story so far that Zoners supporting either side in the conflict may end up shooting each other in large fleet engagements.
KK that's what I thought. Obviously Zoners shouldn't shoot eachother normally but this is an exceptional case for these 3 days. Nice.

I wonder why Zoners would side with Corsairs after they took control their Freeport.

Because while Corsairs are very bad and evil for taking control of the Freeport (which still has Zoners hostages onboard), Corsairs did so because they wanted food from the biodomes which the Zoners stopped selling them due to their own internal issues that were described in the ingame news articles.
As such, Corsairs can potentially be negotiated with (they are pragmatic and if you make it worth their while, they might negotiate), whereas Outcasts have no motivation to capture the station, as their only goal is for Corsairs not to own the Freeport, for which the easiest solution is to explosively disassemble it into tiny pieces of scrap.
Don't get me wrong, even if they do negotiate a deal with Sairs in the end, it won't be a very good one, but the station will at the very end still exist at the end of the day. That will not be the case if OCs will have their way, however.
If anyone is familiar with the Expanse, I really see parallels between Corsairs and Oucasts as Earth and Mars, while Zoners are basically Belters. No one wants to be a welwala to their beratnas, but if the dusters are gonna blow a place to get the earters off, maybe it's worth it to fight on their side, keyá?

Beratnas, I am offering you to form a Transport Union if you help us protect Freeport 9 from destruction.
Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.
Outcasts and Core in particular values the Nine and have a lot of reasons to keep it as is before annexation. It's a logistic hub that helps them keep their own things going + observation, recon and penetrate Corsairs area. While Corsairs had a really few reasons to keep it within their Borders, but for long range it would be counter productive, they literray enganger their citizens to famine.
Well corsairs have a giantic reason to keep FP9 as forward base, food generation base, and even as a trade hub or fortres.
Meanwhile outcasts outside Malta have 0 reasons to have any base.
Why would you live outside the only place you can live? makes no sense.
