I've heard it referred to as "World of Warcrack." While I never played it, I developed a dislike for it as a gameclan that I administered for 10 years died because of it. So many people played WOW and never came back that the site owner closed the website and dissolved the clan. I've been lost since and never really got over it.
Yeah, I know, it's just games but I built and lost some good frienships over those years.
Ive played for approximately 2 years with some breaks on free RP server... lots of bugs and this stuff, at least it was for free :D It was cool to play there, until a wave of newbies came and ruined all RP on the server and GMs were not able to handle them - so the server became RP-PVP (more like rp - !PVP! ) and I stopped playing. After half a year I downloaded FL and found Disco :)
The whole problem with wow is getting past all the crap and crap people to find the decent folks. As well as finding out what you enjoy about the game, what role you like (healing is great fun actually). When I used to play with a bunch of rl friends, all of us in the same room, and do instances as min level... Good times.
Grinding can get a bit boring, but spamming instances with friends or doing pugs make it go much faster. And it also helps you get known with people of your level, so more folks to talk to/grind levels with.
Maybe getting back into it in summer, once I get a job to pay for it.
"World of Warcrack." Only as much as any other mmo. Well, 'cept you pay for wow.
If WoW can actually impede the work flow of a group of grown men between the ages of fifty-five to sixty at my father's placve work, doesn't this strike you as a problem?
World of Warcrack seems quite fitting, best of luck finding someone to play with.
