I think the negative gun has been brought up many times, and I guessed it was the topic when I loaded the page. I believe it was tried, but caused instant death to the person it hit or something. Numbers less than 0 are bad, apparently.
I had an idea for his in X3TC where id mount Repair lasers on an M7. Repair ships would be called upon heavily in battle and could be unfair, unless it was extremely weak.
It's safer (in terms of not supplying the other side) to fly close to the person needing bots/bats and trading them across. Shields stay up, but neither can shoot during this.
I've seen some folks with -insane- skills at that though. Most of them die in seconds solo though.

' Wrote:Otherwise, unfortunate things happen. Shields go down, 300 bots are jettisoned, Repair ship takes a massive beating, enemy sucks up the bots with their tractor beams (Some, have lightning fast B fingers. I've seen, its impressive).
Exactly because of that is that a server command thingy would be better, there is no way some B key master guy sucks your bots/bats, I have seen guys that seem to be "trained" to suck every item in sight as soon as they see them
Commands would be a little imba, I think. Imagine fighting a fighter in your Liberator or something, while his buddy sat nearby and spammed the command. Sure, you could just attack them but then their buddy is all over you and tearing you apart. Wouldn't just happen to light fighters either.
Repair ships have 4k bats/bots, so risking getting hit once or twice while trading is a necessary evil. Fighters can easily evade getting hit by flying in circles around them or something, just like they do when sharing bats/bots between other fighters in the middle of a fight, and with anything bigger than a bomber you just need to save your bots until you need a refill, pop them out and then use the time you have before they bring that down to trade. Ample time, and with a BS/BC you'd be doing it before your hull was low enough to take down that quickly, unless you've a death wish :\
Note - I'm not a cap pilot, so I've got no idea, but it sounds logical.
I guess you mean somthing like that, though as somone mentioned earlier it seems that shields must be down for the ship to be repaired.

I've been mildly miffed by one-shot weapons since their implementation, oh so long ago. I remember the days when fights were a matter of who could aim better, rather than who could aim a single shot. - Virus

Well I dont mean a heal command or spamming the commadn, I think it would work as the /givecash commadn, where you give someone else your money, that way you dont give anyone more than what you actually have. The lets say /h or /heal command would work the same way, for example
/h Mr.X 100
that way Mr.X would get 10 regens, but if the repair ship only has 70 bots/bats then poor Mr.X would receive only 70 regens.
Another way would be specifying the regen you want to give like
/bats Mr.X 100 or /bots Mr.X 100. this to avoid wasting regens Mr.X would really need
