Awesome News
In the coming weeks or even week. Mechwarrior 4 will be released for free as stated by the company in charge.
MekTek is currently it seems upgrading its server to host the files.
Quote:Folks over the course of the next 12 hours you may experience some downtime on mektek.net. We are upgrading our server infrastructure at MekTek in preparation of releasing Mechwarrior4 for FREE. We are building a server cluster at MekTek which basically means multiple simultaneous servers running together serving MekTek's forums, web portal, gallery, downloads, and MekMatch (crucial for online play).
I loved Mechwarrior 2: Titanium Edition because of the focus on mullahs. You got to take missions that payed you good money with plenty of bonuses around and you could purchase other AI mechs to assist you.
Will this Mechwarrior 5 have the same stuff, or is it a watered down version of a shooter?

Actually, it's actual gameplay footage, just using the Unreal engine. I'm sure they'll make their own engine (Or lease another company's engine to use) and it'll look just as good, if not better.
With today's technology and how games look, I still can't believe people will look at a video and state "That's CGI, blah blah". Especially since in the interview given by the devs, they clearly state that they used the Unreal Engine to create something to show prospective publishers how the game would look and play.
