i love this game
On-topic, all of the Battlefield games would be godly if they didn't lose more packets than an ass-less cereal box. Still damn good fun to play as a medic, regardless.
I've just started playing again after dropping it for about 2 years or so.
I'm a god in the transport (the ship), and I've found a new love for the basic assault rifles for either team, forsaking my Baur having discovered its inability rapid-fire effectively (i.e. bullets coming out of the side of the gun [i.i.e. epic inaccuracy at full auto]).
I find 2142 much more user friendly game than bf2. I mean coming back after a long break.
2142 death does not come so sudden whereas in BF2 you really need to learn the maps and places and the moves all over again. That's why I dislike CS:S immensely. The re-learning curve is just too high since there are people who have played the same game for 3 or more years. What kind of an anti-social idiot plays the same for 3 years? Oh, wait...

I play both 2142 and BF2. It's a nice get-a-way and I like both equally.
2142 I often go with whatever the team I'm on needs. On defense, I usually take an engineer. Assaulting I go with usually anti-armor. The same applies to BF2.
I avoid heavy combat vehicles quite often as they are so easily targeted and overmatched from the air quite often. The hover tank is awesome though.
