It happens to me as well, even though I have a 2mb internet connection, but it all comes down in the interaction of the server and client, so all I can say is either, go trader or learn the movement of the ships, they are an AI after all, so they have certain patterns.

Darklighter - Outcast Major of the "Krayt's Revenge" Outcast Destroyer. Malak - Corsair pirate of the "Dusty Bantha" Corsair Gunship.
And if you really must know, then yes, they all 5 are brothers that come from a disfunctional family, thus the difference in factions.
my ping is 250+ min (this is my best connection) coz im from south east asia. it is true there are patterns for these AI ships. when i 1st do contract missions, i always used missiles in two's. i dont fire at their six. i always use it when i 'clearly' see that the AI ship is heading straight at me. usually, 2 jousts like that kills the AI. if not, finish up with a 'extra-predicted' lead shot hehehe:)
When I was new and my connection sucked I spent literally hours on missions due to the erratic movement of my prey. (does that make me super dedicated or just nuts) I learned eventually how to kill the little #^% and now can kill them with ease no matter how much ping. However this kind of fighting skill is of absolutly no use against real players.:)Good luck with this one.

Hehe, my favorite technique is to take them out before they start maneuvering. I just blast away with my missiles and everything around me usually dies. ^.^ Even friendlies unfortunately...

Pity me for I have an average 500ms ping with 400 at best. This is why I'm thinking of hanging up my hat as a KNF fighter pilot! Maybe I'll go trader. For the record my connection is either (two computers at two locations - no one isn't work!) a 512/128K (download/upload) ADSL and 256/128K ADSL and the country is... Australia. About the other side of the world to the server. We never get good connections to Europe here but the funny thing is the server before this one and the one before that (and the one before that... I'm loosing count) were all better ping times but featured much worse gazelling. I don't know why. Faster server box? Upload download ratios... Something. It's smoother now but I still explode without being hit!:);)
I forgot just how bad it was until I went on the other day. It gets really bad when you are trying to take down light fighters. Doesn't happen so bad when fighting heavy fighter class upward. Thats why I take missions where I know the enemy is going to be in a class of ship heavier than an LF whenever possible :P

Better yet, take base destruction missions in which you can ignore the fighters.

LAN or WiFI has nothing to do with the game. That is the physical layer of the OSI model and the game can't differentiate between different physical layers.
Wifi is worse because it's wireless nature. It's prone to interferences, snopping, etc. It's always better to use wired instead of WiFI though.
