' Wrote:This is an interesting point. Junker ID says you can pirate, but since they are completely lawful in Gallia, obviously they won't be hitting legit shipping there at all.
However, there is plenty of non-legit shipping. Any non-junker trader from Sirius is considered unlawful in Gallia, so if I stumble upon one as a junker, could I hit it? Additionally, pirating Marqus trade ships would be something the Junkers would probably be eager to do. And there is the possibility of legit, but non-junker scrap miners. On one hand, we need to stay legal, but on the other, they are stealing our scrap. Could we hit any of these?
Well ... considering people have a hard time accepting Gallian weapons leaving Gallia (calling it OORP) ... I think its gonna be quite difficult for ANYTHING Gallian interacting with ANYTHING non-Gallian.
Anything entering Gallia is called a threat ... and anything leaving Gallia that is Gallian is OORP.
Lets just get rid of Gallia ... if we can't mix Gallia with the rest of Sirius, why have it at all. Just shut it down and create a new server for just Gallia.
Gallia is here in its current state for people to become familiar with it before the core systems come out. Then this "non-interaction policy" will fall, since by then, the "Discovery of Gallia" will be long gone. It's only temporary - and you probably just forgot.

Well if they wait too long people will lose interest. Like I was going to play a Unione Corse but right now they are smugglers without anything to smuggle or a place to smuggle. Even the recent allowing to the Taus doesn't really impact anything since most of the Tau's are guard systems. Also when I tried to contact others in the Taus and rp with them all I got was "//Ur gonna be sanctioned" or "//you can't be here go back to Gallia." I've moved on. I'm not saying to rush the next edition but they should IMO get rid of the "What happens in Gallia, Stays in Gallia" policy. Right now really the only activity in Gallia is powertraders, and few trying to start up the GRN (I've only seen four) and MRF (There is only four at the moment). We need more interest in Gallia, so when the core systems are up we can really get to business, instead of still being in a "getting used to Gallia" stage.
To be truthful, I've seen both ends of the spectrum on this issue. I've had great roleplay encounters and fights with the GRN and Council on both my MRF and Gallic freelancer, plus ofcourse conning my way past on a Junker.
Now, on the other hand, I've seen L'anes in omicron delta, with ones and interspace IDs. And a LPI Basalisk loaded out with demi-culverins and an Universal IFF.
And really, as long as everyone plays by the rules, theres nothing stopping your sirians from assisting the council and maquis in their efforts.
