Bought it at wallmart in 03. Found the mod in Iraq (downloaded it). Played it on my own for a long time on my home server and then discovered there was a real server and walla varyag is born.

Quoted, Bolded, and underlined! for truth.
I've "left" three times now.
I have loved the game since it first came out.
I got the beautiful box, for -/+ $80.
Played it, downloaded a number of mods, including TNG.
Been part of TLR, now Starport,
Left it alone for a number of years. Lost the disc.
Bought a $9 replacement,
Heard about "a RP server" from a friend.
Went searching in the server list, kept my eyes open, saw the then 150 limit.
Went to moddb. Got the mod.
Now it's like LSD in my veins. I can't get rid of it.

I got Freelancer a month or so after it was released, I was looking forward to it for a long time then. I played through the singleplayer about two or three times and I felt like playing again two months ago. After finishing the campaign I googled something for the free play after the campaign - and found Discovery entries. I took a look at the mod and was amazed right away. The fact that this server is dedicated to RP made me download the mod and install it once I saw it. So I never knew anything before 4.85, but I love it.
I want your feedback! Feel free to tell me your opinion on stories and RP here.
I was a huge Wing Commander fan and followed this game until it was finally released....way after it was supposed to be.
I found discovery by chance during the first mod release...back when the server crashed and lagged all the time because of ship engine issues, when every second person was using the Speed Mod and when you could camp outside of Manhattan with a Police IFF and pirate people.
