Agreed Dab, this is not a /CS/ thread in any way shape or form. Discussion, complaints, love notes, and volunteering for cyborging for \CS\ should be done in a seperate, dedicated thread. Any further posts on the matter will be removed. For that matter this is not a discussion abou the [IG] either.
Since I'm in here, viewing it as an outsider, the Kiretsu/GC Elders tension was well rped out on the forums. I've only had passing interactions with the Kiretsu, but none of them have made me want to uninstall the game, so that's points in your favor.
Because as much as I hate to admit it, Dusty sometimes has a annoying ability to take the things I think and make them sound more understandably, so I will use his here.

[12:15:28 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: IC and Kusari are, yes, working on part of a foundation of a historic fued following the debacle of back in the day, following the nationalization etc etc.
[12:15:59 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: Which, in modern times, prompts IC to maintain a casual attitude towards some of the unlawful bodies of Kusari and Rheinland
[12:16:35 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: But I've never heard anything to suggest that they're even remotely involved in actively working towards local political upset
[12:16:57 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: "GC" do hang about on Roppongi
[12:17:09 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: But that's a statement that needs to be taken into some consideration
[12:17:27 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: Hogosha also operate on Roppongi, as do all types.
[12:17:58 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: If anything Rippongi acts as a culturally neutral center, than a hive of sedition and political scheming/drug distribution hige
[12:18:01 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: *hive
[12:19:20 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: Interspace chiefly wouldn't operate anything terribly shady out of there for reasons of pure greed, why shove drugs towards the GC from a base on top of the capitol of a house risking in the process of doing so the financiall largess gleaned from that position to send a few more hopped up teens towards the front lines?
[12:19:39 AM] CHL - Dusty Lens: CHL - Dusty Lens shrugs
My concern is that this will have a big effect on the rp of Interspace commerce, leaving it in a similar position to the one the Zoners and to a lesser extent the Junkers are facing. Supporting one side so openly will leave them vulnerable to losing the status it has, and the HUGE investment of capital it has made in Kusari.
edit: apologies for my previous post Dab, not the place for it.
edit: I want to make clear for every one, my issue has nothing to do with the Kiretsu players or thier in game actions at all, I like the group and have had many many good interactions with them in game in the past, the issue I am raising is about the role Interspace is pushed into in this rp writeup.

We allow the Golden Chrysanthemums to land here, since they do not attack shipping indiscriminately. Their dispute is with the Kusari government and industry, and its stifling, paternalistic traditions. We at IC would view any reforms of Kusari society as beneficial to IC's interests.
This just goes to support Interspace's.. Support for the local unlawful factions of the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums.

I think it's time for my afternoon Cardamine break. We sell our cargo here, since they won't let us land on Tokyo. All the hip Tokyo types come here to get their supply. That's how we recruit new girls to join the cause.
This is the basis of the roleplay surrounding the Interspace stations being used as the GC's dropoff and distribution centers for Cardamine.

We are currently investigating rumored Farmers Alliance links with Samura. The attacks on Synth Foods transports within Kusari are blatant acts by Samura to discourage foreign competitors who threaten their business. We will press criminal charges against Samura and refuse their use of Trade Lanes within Libertonian space if they are found guilty.
This goes towards Interspace's 'active' participation in trying to change Kusari.
I've simply taken the pre-existing state of affairs between GC and IC. This same relationship is the reason why the GC ID forbids us from attacking Interspace ID'd ships.

First of all, I would like to say that this post has been a long time coming and I am exceptionally pleased to see that your year and change of hard work in maintaining this organization in a very unpopular region of space against waxing and waning interest has finally culminated into this tribute to that work and the preservation of its history.
It's a fantastic post, simply to read from a historical perspective.
While I'm leaving some of the particulars to bubble in the rusted cauldron that is my mind, crumbling and full of bobbing remnants of half baked thoughts , I would like to step forward with one suggestion. Much like Zelot said I would ask that you be extremely cautious in the manner that you handle the development of lore and perceptions of factions other than your own.
The relationship between the GC and Interspace, yes, was rather strongly expanded upon by Kuraine while he was involved in writing up much of the expanded lore for this latest release. While I understand that there is no proper Interspace Commerce faction, nor truth be told is there likely to be one (Love to the IND, but it's a smuggling group which purchased a firm within the commercial giant that is Interspace) I would feel much more comfortable if the association between those two bodies remained at Interspace's best: Subtle as all hell.
For instance: While there are the rumors of cardamine deposits and utilization, I would rather think that on the small scale of personal consumption and individual smuggling, not on any sort of grand commercial scale.
Please do not feel that I'm crying off the development of an added depth of interaction, Interspace's role within Freelancer is rich and developments along this line can only serve to enhance that flavor... I suppose I'm saying that it would be best that you abstained from setting up all of the chess pieces before the other players have a chance to sit at the table. Should an Interspace faction come into being that would be the time to begin adding true complexity to your relationship.
I'll post again when I've another cowpie of thought to deposit.
Judging by the size and verbal complexity of your last post Dusty, that you were writing it while I posted my last post, so have a look at the three rumors that I used as my basis for the relationship between Kiretsu and Interspace.
Also, the relationship is still a subtle one, even though the lore suggests Kusari knows that GC land on Roppongi, because they refuse to allow them to land on Tokyo. (2nd rumor.) We do drop off goods at both Furyoku and Waterloo Stations in Okinawa and New London, but never on Roppongi in person. Other, independent traders may do so, or small GC ships like the Hawks you often see docking Roppongi, but our large transports would never do such.
Okinawa is mostly safe from the Empire's eyes, and the rules there are a bit different, operating under the Gas Miner's sovereignty. New London is only further so on both points. Kiretsu never has and likely never will admit to any collaboration between Interspace and ourselves. If KNF were to be sitting outside Furyoku in Okinawa, we'd not dock there for example. The vanilla lore is being used and slightly expanded on, but Interspace's public appearance and relationship with the factions in Kusari has remained the same as it always has been.

Shame....
I suppose it had to happen sometime though, good luck.
You know why I'm doing this, and it ain't because of the man..
Even though it was my understanding that you weren't ever really keen on going down the path of officialdom. I am glad you did. This would be great addition the vault of lore known as the Faction Status sub-forum. I can tell that it isn't necessary for you to be the leader of an official faction in order to have a roll in shaping Disco lore but if accepted that roll will than be able to be shared amongst the member in that part of space (Message Dumps, Recruitment Stories, Watering Holes etc...).
On to more specifics. GMG and Kiretsu players have interacted many times for nearly a year. The factions ability to add RP to a system's chat is without question and from the encounters I remember they are quite good at it. In my Guild Master's hat for the GMG| faction concerning Kiretsu RP and Okinawa; I am in complete support of it. I find it to attached enough to Vanilla lore to be able to seamlessly meld to it (note: I have always been one to stay as close to Vanilla as possible with my RP). I also have to say that I see Kiretsu far more often than I see GC. Give me some time and I may be able to remember the last time I met a GC.
So in my opinion this gets a thumbs up and should be included amongst the official ranks now that the desire is there.
