Quote:Whoa! Can't be...I actually took a screenshot that was used in article about Discovery.
Also, huges kudos to the guy who made that ship!
Cool, we found the source now. The model was created by Angel of Mercy.

Quote:Yep. Freelancer never dies. Microsoft will, though. Source code or no source code!
Microsoft? Hardly.

As for the source code, just think on who should be getting it. Everyone? That is unprecedented, and impossible. Some modding community? Hardly, plus, how would they choose one? The only option is to find an investor that would buy it from MS for commercial usage. And I don't believe anyone would be interested in such thing, cause it surely won't be anywhere near cheap.

' Wrote:Greetings Discovery,

As you can see I am Roo, author the above linked article relating to Freelancer.

I am glad to see the article was extremely well recieved. A few people have asked me recently why I wrote the article. Simple really... I was a Freelancer Server Admin, a player, a modder and I was one of the founding Admins on The Starport (also mentioned above).

I was offered a chance to write about something I strongly believed in and as such, I wrote about the Global FL Community.

Now to answer your question about the source code. I can promise you, it won't happen. I am sorry. The feature wasn't intended for that purpose anyway. There will be more, and I will continue to speak for the community whenever I have a chance.

For more information on me and my experience in Freelancer please visit my personal site www.kriswbennett.co.uk and select the 'aka Roo-Avery' page.

Kind Regards,

Kris
aka Roo-Avery

I should have also said if you have any ideas on how you would like to see Freelancer advertised more to the general public, please get in touch. Either via Igiss or with me directly.

Sorry for the 'double post'.

Kris.

I commend you on your appearance here Roo, it's good to know that people from Microsoft still care about us and acknowledge us.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark.

A small update for you all here over at Discovery. Although posted on a Xbox fansite the article has been extremely well recieved by everyone that has taken a look... which now stands at just over 1000 views and almost a 100 emails to my inbox.

There is interest in a follow up to my initial review so as soon as I have found the time to research and write another piece, I will let you all know.

Kind Regards.

Roo.

*wonders how much Microsoft would charge for the source code*

I'm a newb here, but has anyone asked them a price? Or is the old fashioned 'Corporate Hard Shoulder'.

Sometime's it's hard to be the insignificant fan. :]
