Not only your English fails, but your French does, too. Doubt it'd be worth it for you to translate it, I don't feel like playing a Disco full of spelling mistakes and all.-_-

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Just on the topic of French.

How good is your verbal English Jess?

You rarely make mistakes with your english, and it's hard to tell it isn't your native tongue.

The forums, Skype, ingame, it's all (unless you get a call going) typed out.

Has your verbal improved because of the written?

Speaking and writting are two very different matters, and I can't talk to save my life.

I have to agree with Lanakov. It will help you with other langauges.

Also it would be a horrible amount of work to change everything into french just for you, while others still have the normal one. Considering the amount of Information Cards you will take more than a year. Really, and until then you already learned a proper english.

By the way: It's against the rules to use other languages than english. Not only in the game (only in your group). It also counts for the forums. And getting pictures of knives when I search for inscri wont make me happy.

Lanakov Posted Today, 02:20 PM
I suggested this the day I joined disco.
Then, I was explained it would be pointless. And that's true, it IS pointless.
Because even if the game is in your native language, the other players will keep speaking english, and in the end you'll still be screwed.

I suggest you try and adapt.
My english level has drastically improved since I joined Disco.
I even sent my stories to my english teacher on her request.Haha !

One month? Seriously, I am laughing so hard. My chest hurts.

Well you can wait for Igiss, the chance that I open the window and I spot a new Lamborghini with Jessica Alba on the hood telling me that I won this car and a night with Jessica is higher though.

Just to tell you, on the Disco Wiki are already 1,494 Pages with legitimate content. That means they have a proper infocard. If you would take a look at some other Infocards like that here.

Quote:The crippled sleeper ship Hispania arrived in Omicron Alpha almost 800 years ago. It's passengers named the planet Malta, a harsh place of acid oceans, gray skies, and vast plains covered in a species of tall, thin orange grass. They later learned that the grass could be rendered into a narcotic substance, that they called Cardamine.

Eventually the Outcasts - as they came to think of themselves - began limited exploration of their system. As pilots wandered farther and farther afield in search of resources, many became seriously ill. Upon planetfall, the crews mysteriously recovered.

Doctors were baffled. By chance, they made a scan of a critically ill pilot and made a startling discovery. His genetic codes had been altered. Outcast DNA contained strands identical to that of the orange grasses that covered the planet-from which Cardamine was derived. Trace amounts were present in everything on the planet, from the air they breathed to the water they drank. Once pilots made lengthier journeys away from Malta, their bodies went into shock, followed by death.

The Outcasts were now truly separated from the rest of humanity-changed so much they could never expand beyond the planet on which they landed. They needed the Cardamine now, like air or food or water. But with the origin or the sickness solved, they could at least compensate by carrying supplies of Cardamine with them and resume their exploration of their surrounding systems.

When they encountered the rest of the houses in the seventh century, a new strategy emerged. The Outcasts would deliver the poison that would rot the other houses from the inside out and grow rich from the profits of their trade.

Today the Outcasts conduct a lucrative drug-smuggling operation using a network of jump holes to escape detection and transport their product into the heart of the house systems. The Outcasts remain relatively few in number; a crash in the birth rate seems to have been another side effect of their genetic modification.

A new development has been Cryer's continued efforts to create a synthetic version of Cardamine that would be approved as legal medication within Liberty. This poses a direct threat to the Outcasts' sources of income. The Atka Research Station, with nearby access to Edge Nebula clouds, is the most immediate threat to the Outcasts. The location of the base within Corsair territory has brought the Outcasts into conflict with their ancient brethren.

Thats the Malta Infocard. I guess having that one free of mistakes in french language will already take you at least three days.
And for the last time I suggets you calm down.

Actually, I could probably translate the infocard you quoted in about an hour, at the most. It's not the length of the data that poses a problem, but rather the sheer amount of it. Translating something - even in such a way that it has proper grammar and sentence structure - is not an incredibly long process if you are able to concentrate on it for a few hours every day. However, the fact is that translating everything is quite simply tedious to the highest extent, and so there are bound to be lapses in concentration, making the time used stretch out and the mistakes made multiply.

However, I don't believe this to be useful enough to put in all the work for it. While it will help people understand the mod data better, it will not do so with other players, and so the good is just too light to outweigh the vast amount of bad for this proposal. It's not so much a question of whether one is capable of it as one of it being productive enough to accomplish.

Malta infocard is already in French for French version of FLs.

All Vanilla stations with unedited infocards are in French.

And from what I've seen, non, ton niveau de Francais est loin d'approcher une quelquonque once de perfection. Meme le mien est loin d'etre decent, mais que veux-tu? Je suis Quebecoise. :/

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.
