I'm not entirely sure on a Spatial replacement (what about the wing!?), but it does look like it would work perfectly for the Mafic. It does look quite nice though.
It is too small and looks too small for deep exploration vessel. Think of bigger engines, extra cargo hold for supplies, navigation instruments, long range communication array.
You added torpedo tubes why for? Spatial is not just another bomber.
Model is good and looks nice but It is not good to as Spatial replacement. Doe It might be good as replacement for Homeworld ugly ships. ( No offense to all Homeworld fans but they just don't fit to FL )

exactly what I thought when I saw the model. The Spatial is ok, the Mafic needs to be replaced more urgently

Why the crusade (again) to replace the Spatial model? Just because it's an "import"? If it weren't in Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, and without looking it up on wookiepedia, how many of you can honestly tell me the proper name of the ship?
Just because it's an import doesn't make it sacrilegious. Nor does it make it non-freelancer-ish (a subjective term if I ever saw one).
There are several "imports" in this mod that do NOT need a model replace (The Charon, Crow, Umbrage, Vidar to name a few).
Yes, the Homeworld boxes could stand a replace, and I'm all for people trying their hand at them, but leave the poor Spatial alone. The shape of it is part of the allure, the rusty texture, the huge asymmetrical wing, the HUGE engines and (nonexistent) forward cannon.
Hey, there's a thought. Replace the torp hardpoint with a Gunboat HP near that forward cannon.

Great model!
To me in looks like a perfect model for the SCRA, could you make it a bit fatter, it would fit the look as it is a deep place explorer (Well I think the Spatial is...:P)
Bravery is being the only one who knows you're afraid. - David Hackworth (1930 - 2005)
This looks a hundred and three point four times better than the current spacial.
The current model
A) Is n import
B) Is asymmetrical in the worst possible way
C) Is asymmetrical in an even worse way
D) Is asymmetrical in a way only slightly less horrible than that
E) Has asymmetrical engines.
F) Has asymmetrical guns.
G) Is egregiously asymmetrical.
I can't even fly the thing, just because it looks so... horrible.
I recently bought a Spatial, and it very literally disturbed me to the point where I had to sell it for a new ship, as much as I wanted a SHF with a mining bonus and two mines.
I know a lot of people disagree, but I am a big fan of asymmetrical ships. Asymmetrical shapes have a much more dynamic and interesting feel to them. Now, there are definite limits as to how far you take it. There needs to be a cohesive design and feeling across the whole thing, but it doesn't have to just be a mirrored design. I find that is usually boring. Take the Geisha for example. I love the design of that ship. I realize this is a bit off topic, and I apologize for the tangent, but everyone seems to have a problem with asymmetry.
As for the design of this ship, I'm not a huge fan. It feels like a ball that would slowly drift through space. I don't get the feeling of ship from it. I could see it as an escape pod or the cockpit of a ship, but this seems like just a piece of a ship. Sorry.
