See, it doesn't work that way... First, you decide which faction you want to be affiliated with. And then, after at least some RP with the faction in-game or on the forums, I suggest you buy one. Otherwise, you will probably be frowned upon.

P.S. Biggest enemy of Battleships = Trade Lanes.

Yes unless you are staying outside of house space a BS is hard as hell to move. And beware of rock field's, they are a major thorn in your side.
