We passed into Frankfurt without incident. But right on the other side were seven Unioner pirates, firing on a Train. It's engines were completely blown off. My thruster went full burn and I hurled myself at the Unioners. One went down as I charged it, my extra powercore giving an added boost to my guns. The fighter seemed to be made of fluid as it dodged around fire and delivered it's own.
Rolph was delivering his own punishment. In the end, the kill tally was split four-three on his side. "Not bad for a robot on his first sortie!" He said, mulling over the wrecks, looking for survivors. He pulled in an escape pod and told me, "Call for a repair ship for this train. I'll call our convoy through." Our convoy had waited behind in Stuttgart.
I sent a distress call to the nearby Planet, and they told me that a recovery op was inbound. Our convoy rejoined us, and the disabled Train thanked us for their lives as we passed through the lane. There was a lane interception on the way to the New Berlin Jumpgate that me and Rolph handled ruthlessly.
New Berlin opened up to me. This was where I was 'born', on a SRCDT office on New Berlin. We delivered our convoy to The Ring and I landed on the planet, doing a fly-over the landscape. I saw trees, oceans, grasses, cities, and people.
Now I moved to my final stage of development; favoring a gender to call my own. I did not have any biological parts that would show me as male or female. I had none of the horomones to influence my decisions. But I had this lack of identity, which was a frighteningly human feeling.
I reviewed my protocol. It was a mild one. A gentle, caring personality that had a sourness for violence, and a rage for murder. I decided to hold a female persona, because of all the pirates I had killed, women held the lowest count. But not by much.
The workers at BBR were amused by my choice, but changed their way of speaking about me. They began referring to me as 'she' or 'her' and no longer 'he' or 'it'.
