' Wrote:Credits worth less. That was one example. Since people make so much money so easily, prices go up because each credit isn't worth what it used to be.
Example; People used to pirate for a million.. Now the average is 3 million.
what i see most often, most decent pirates base the amount they ask on what the persons haulin, the probable route they are takin.. most people are mining anyway abd pulling in a 40 mill profit form their load if they have a really good rout, so its not really far out there to levy them a good 10 mil, in most pirates eyes.
i dont think piracy is that great to base inflation deflation off of, but reading previous posts the changes int he mod that increased the number of credits generated was designed to paint trade routs witht he blood of traders/miners anyway.
and because people arnt always going to be stopped from compleating their routs is why i think the cap prices and other larger boat prices were raised.
FL has an advantage in its perceived inflation and deflation-
the credits, once spent, disappear. so the inflation is set, and the credit still has a constant. in most other games, the inflation is rampant due to most all items being traded amongst players. in games, you cant ever trust a player to be fair witht heir prices, in most games you might see a player trying to make a 600% profit off an item of some type. and theres always some idiot willing to buy it thinking its a good deal.
the only place you can really notice the inflation hitting the hardest is if you were to buy a codename off someone- some of the worst codename might be worth 10 mill to people. player controled prices.. i dont think theres many players that can be trusted to price thingsfairly, which is why i'm glad that the npc's provide a constant price.
"prices go up because the devs moved them up to reduce capwhorage,"
seems likely to me since they raised the ammount a single player can gain from single runs
"However, now that you're back on your regular trend of 'Dev team conspiracy!' I'm going to leave this thread."
makes no sense to me because i would like to hope that the dev team is balancing the game as they develop new things for it. everyone int he game thats not seriously here for RP is always wanting the bigger ship. who says that the caps prices arnt higher to prevent a million cap players since generating credits is easier? and like i mentioned earlier, from the sound of it from a comment an admin made about the mining mod,one of the things they hoped to see with its introduction into disco was that the trade routs be littered with the remains of dead miners- higher credit gen was ment as an incentive to pirate more- more RP encounters, and make it more rewarding for pirates.
"There is no Inflation. there is price increases. Prices cant go up because all credits are taken out of circulation when spent."
not intirely true, because the credits dont go out of circulation in the buying and selling of codenames. imo, thats the only area you can really truly see any sign of inflation. otherwise the statement is right.
some one controls the market in FL, and its not the players, so it has to be the devs -_- there is no conspiracy. i for one am glad they are good at balancing it out. its a dedicated group. and they do good work.
