Also this one. Rather than spawning in cargo gold, silver etc. Spawn in cargo icon, like the escape pod mission you would only be able to drop it of at you final destination.
maybe we can modify the 'steal cargo' or 'get escapepod' type missions to do this...picking up something, but changing where the drop off is. Could also be a nice idea for Junker missions, picking up a hidden package of who knows what and bringing it to a drop point.
A) Missions exist which require you to return a commodity to a base. This base is generally the point of mission origin.
A 1. This suggests that the code exists to dictate commodities be returned to a location.
A 2. Commodity may possibly be placed in hold at start of mission.
A 3. Commodity can certainly be placed somewhere in space at start of mission. 10k from base in space at a "start" point in the form of a "crate" NPC.
B) If A 1. could be turned into optional end mission destination other than the point of origin you have, hey presto, a mission where you go to point A (near base of origin) blow up a "crate" which contains commodity Zed which you then fly to your destination for reward.

The biggest thing is making the end mission destination different than the base of origin. This could be a huge thing for freighter trade.
Yeah this would be awesome to look into. Can't wait till I see people getting mad because there rep is shot from failing the missions due to pirates or police stopping them and killing them.

Dusty, is it possible for the cargo to spawn far away in another system (like some missions do), or even a base in another system and then you'd have to bring it back to the base of origin.
