There is a server on Garry's mod for Half Life 2 in which you live in a city with other civilians and you can buy apartments, or warehouses and so on. You can either be combine, civilian or rebel. Really good fun actually.

I would like a game like Empire: Total War to have more people on the multiplayer campaign as that could be roleplayable, also if anyone is up for Battlefield 2 RP, then I might well reinstall it

EDIT - To answer your question Maj. Voelkel, there is a combat simulator called ArmA, in which you can take the role of a pilot, a marine, a tank commander etc, and that has FPS combat, which is RPed. In ArmA 2 there is a clan which makes missions and plays them using proper military tactics and so on.

In FPSes, I RP alot, games like Stalker though, make it awesome.

Basically is one giant RP(G) but the Elder Scrolls series, IE: Morrowind and Oblivion? Considering it is so open ended it has lots of opportunities and is stupid fun.

I tend to randomly do things that are altogether pointless in games.
For example, in Generals I enjoy utilizing my Paratrooper drops in mini missions. Once I took control of a farm that had no strategic value whatsoever, but it was cool:D
Then I fuel air bombed them pretending it was a target mishap.

The other week when I was flying around in the Coalition GB offline I played out a bit of an incursion into Cambridge:D

Hell, I do it in everything. I've played offline all my life and it just makes it much more fun:D

Or GTA IV, in the gamemode that allows you to roam freely.

Try GTA SAn Andreas with the SAMP multiplayer mod, I actually play it right now on a huge RP server with 150+ players, alot of fun. You have bank account, buyable cars, houses, alot of jobs, factions, gangs, etc. And PM me if you'r going to try it out I'll hook you up with the good stuff on that server;)


On other note when I used to live with my family I used to RP in Empire Earth on a LAN Game with my brother, alot of fun.

Any game with an oppresive atmosphere. Like the new Aliens Vs Predator.
If you could actully RP as Aliens or Preds. Scaring the crap out of Humans and actuly being scary and evil rather than just another target.
