I thought that it was explained before.

Freelancer has very hard times handling multiple cargo entries. If you get around 150, the character file gets corrupt. It's not important what the character is, faction bank or just a trader. You can call it God, or [Admin]Igiss, or George Bush, it will still get corrupt. So there are no exceptions for the 99 cargo rule.

Like I already said, it's better to keep max cargo around 60-80. I know that certain faction leaders have already split their banks in two, and successfully maintain the limit.

Weapons are not stackable. Each counts as one.

Rule about 20 same items means that you can't hold more than 20 same guns in your hold. So, if you have 20x weapons A, 20x B, 20x C, 20x D, 19x E, you are technically not violating anything. If you have 20x or 21x E, you are violating.

The rule in question (8.2, I just looked it up) states that you can't have more than 20 of the same non-stackable item. So, while you can't have 99 BLUE BLAZES, for example, having 20 BLUE BLAZES, 19 JADES, 19 WILD FIRES, 20 Nomad Blasters, 19 Nomad Cannons, a load of Batts and a load of Bots would be allowed. You just wouldn't be able to get anything else (20+20=40, +19=59,+19=78, +19=97, +2[one each for the bots and batts]=99).

At least, that's my interpretation. Which is in no way official.

Edit: Whoops, Igiss beat me to it. Which is official.

So in blunt terms what just happened? Was cargo arbitrarily removed and erased? Is this a warning to fix the problem ASAP? (not in a position to go online at the moment to check)

The char in question is the SF storage char, I knew about the item limit rule; however, I wasn't aware that I had breached it nor the exact specifics. I can easily fix the situation by selling duplicated and easily bought items (I was using the char to store basically anything and everything extra that was half decent) but has the problem already been dealt with?

I can understand Armories and all, but what would most conventional characters need with any more than 99 inventory slots anyway?

Const is in a better shape than I expected. Sad that the stuff every new fighter needs went poof (scanners and shields)

Either way... nothing that can't be replenished.

sorry, i didnt know the alcatraz had more than 99 different items (My guess was about 50 lol) i will sell the non-valuable items next time i get on
