For those newer players, a Merc ID is good enough to start any of your chars before you get the proper rep. It is easy to find on Planet Houston in Texas and easy to get since you start out friendly enough with lib. This is what I do whenever I start a character not only for the rules but I hate having to explain myself. So please get that ID if your setting up a capship, if not a cap, the neutral ID is on Manhattan I believe. It is easy to do...easy...easy...easy no matter how lazy you are.
I can understand people who transfer 100mil or whatever to a new character and keep a Freelancer ID for the time being... But by the time you actually purchase that big ship you want (or even little ship), you should have the ID to go with it. If the ID and the ship are in entirely different parts of Sirius, fly over in your puny Starflyer and get the ID first.
Well gents, you know what the answer here is ... A polite reminder concerning server rules, if a negative
response is received the choice is yours as to the next move. Its your game time and server, so if you feel
strongly enough, make the admin's work easier by reporting any infractions ... Means they do not have to
look for them. A great percentage of you lot make this a good honest place to spend time. Don't let the
other buggers spoil it.

Well I'll bite on this, when i first started some people took the time to tell me the basic rules are to be followed, and that this is a RP server, so I say that if I see anyone lvl 40 and up and still have a freelancer ID I'll shot 1st then report them its not on I've had to work hard to get my ships and the ID,s that go with.
*****SO IF YOU PEOPLE CAN'T PLAY BY THE RULES THEN DONT PLAY*****
As I have fairly recently started some new chars I would just remind you how it is.
When you get a decent fighter good enouph to get Rep by taking missions, you are probably already pushing the 40 limit, and if you have the money for the license you are probably over 40. 40 is easy to pass just getting what it takes to follow rules. If you give a new char money he is now over 40, but I need to buy a ship, get correct Rep, to buy license. Some time leway should be allowed at Admins discretion:)
@Crunch: Do what I do in that situation. When I start a new character I give him the money at Planet Manhattan and then land at the planet and buy a Neutral ID before I do anything else.

Exactly as I said earlier...its so easy there is no exscuse. Oh and if you are new to the server ask questions! I always appreciate players who are willing to learn as are many other players here. We just want everything to run smoothly. I for one am willing to go well out of my way to help new people out. Contact me in game on Bs|Massada or Chase_Malone, please just ask questions.
I've been thinking on setting up some scripts that search for ships containing a FL ID and over level 40, and deletes them... I'm not sure if it is possible to do with the current tools.
(If you find any mistake in my English, please let me know via a PM)
(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )

Would this be done automatically, at scheduled times or with warnings? I don't want to see new players getting deleted the second they break the lvl 40 rule. I mean it does take like 2-5 min to get a proper temporary ID.
I just reached lvl 40 on my first char (I feel very proud of myself) and am wondering what ID to buy. I'm max friendly with Junkers, Outcasts, Blood Dragons, Xenos (yes, because enough law-people hate me) Liberty Rogues, GC, and Lane Hackers.
Here's my newb-ish question:
I can't decide between Outcast, BD, or just general Pirate ID. I would get BD, except the main thing I want to do is smuggle, and I'm not sure if it'd play into RP if I was a BD smuggling cardamine, seeing as they don't like cardamine. I'd be Outcast, then, except I want to be BD! And I don't even know what the difference is between the general Pirate ID and the other two, other than it's... well, general. Maybe you could explain this to me?
