Well, to be honest, whilst I'm not a fan of the story, being against the extended-intro canon, I'll play along, since you do seem to be working hard at this.
My main problem is why it needs to be an Outcast faction. The base idea screams 'Order' to me, really. Also, it seems to be proposing an additional House on rather shaky grounds.
Also, if Outcast, you may be trying to make them seem 'the good guys' too much. Whilst the Outcasts have their good side... they have to retain some questionable morality. All of the factions, save the Order, are bad in some respect, and this shouldn't really be hidden (props go to RM's leadership here for being 'space nazis'). Those that aren't bad in some way, such as maybe the Bretonian Police, don't really have many 'good' qualities about them either... they're just regular guys doing their job.
So... all in all, whilst there's nothing that sticks out as horrible about it, I must say that it isnt to my own, personal, taste (which counts for nothing, I know) and it also seems to be too ambitious.
There seems to be a lot of factions that want to claim that they saved the universe off-screen. It makes all the little wars in-game appear to count for nothing, making player achievements seem worthless.
Don't take this the wrong way, but it feels kind of wrong when one of your characters has fought tooth-and-nail in-game to be recognised as a war-hero, then something out of the blue has retroactively saved the galaxy from imminent destruction. Makes flying your little fighter seem pointless, really.
its decent RP, haven't seen anything I want to tear to bits.
but, the BSG seem to have decent RP too, and I would like to see them excised, so, get it started, and then I'll see about how it works.
as for the comparasion to BSG, they are both based on outside of freelancer ideas.
I also Agree with blunt.
seems like a superfaction, and, YANFs can't be superfactions.
at all.
but, give it a try.
Looks like u put effort to make story and relationships with factions, but my question is why u wanna half outcast faction? 5 of OC factions is not enough?
And as some said RP story is more leaning to Order then Outcast.
But i guess it needs to be started first then to see how it works..
Haah...here we go... Look at the current Order faction/RP. They're not any fun, and let's face it, that's what we're here for. Also, there aren't any guns to the Corsair's head. We have the RoS, which is still very underpowered even after absorbing the Epigoni, the 101st, which almost Never leaves Outcast space, Hellfire, which suffers spurts of inactivity and is in the middle of a leadership crisi, and the AW, whom is the Corsair's fault entirely, and could have been easily avoided.

So why not unite all Outcast factions into one active with number of players and best of all under same command. Instead of 5 make one, it may work, you will be stronger and instead of one or 2 players of diffrent factions on you would get 6,7 of the same faction...
Oh, right, lets just merge all outcast factions:dry:
Get real please.. i dont think thats gonna happen. Don't think any of the outcast factions will agree, since alot of hecticness will come forth from it. Wrong tagg's, problems with leadership, problems with PC factions diplomacy.
Its not the Corsairs fault entirely Eppy, you know as well as I do that the AW favour the Outcasts over the Corsairs, so don't break open that old chestnut, because its obvious you don't know the full story, at least from our point of view.
[sarcasm]But then again, who needs the full facts to condemn the Corsairs?[/sarcasm]
And whats everyone got against Corsairs anyway? How come no one likes us huh? Do we do something wrong perpetually or what?
----------------------------------
Now, for something completely different:
The story does seem a lot more believable than the first, and its made very well too. I don't have anything that would seem unreal on a high level at all, and this is sci-fi after all.
My only problem is that three battleships still seems too much. TBH have one at the moment (we were counting on the Corsair Dread being in the next version, but apparently not.) which we will increase to two again. Besides, I think that Battleship licenses will only allow two battleships per faction? In fact, I have no clue about them, but still, three does seem too much. I would go for two to be honest. Other capital ship numbers don't matter, but battleships...no faction really needs more than two. Plonk them on a shared account with the battleship only on it, and away you go.
And what will you do if you see Bs| ships helping Corsairs?
In no way am I saying this faction isn't a good idea, it is infact a lot better than many others we all see crop up of late. Just some things I don't personally agree with, thats all.
Actually, as I recall, this latest little war happened when the LDDLG and the Benitez started hunting the AW...and three battleships isbarely enough, Mcneo, believe me...our number-one target is probably going to be the BSG, and I routinely have four Battlestars in Alpha...the Outcasts don't even have a bloody bomber yet, and even then, all the good bomber pilots are all on the Corsair side of the war. The reason the Corsairs have been so successful is that there are so many of them. I have, if I'm lucky, one Outcast on for every five Corsairs. Assuming the Corsairs in question don't actively open fire on any Maltese ships present, we won't have a problem with them while the Black Squadron are present. Besides, I have a very specific Roleplay designed for each and every battleship the Foundation will have; until I see someone who can live up to that Roleplay, there's only going to be one Foundation battleship, the Salvor Hardin, and you won't be seeing her anytime soon because I have to shell out half a billion in BS licenses anyway, not to mention another 200 mil to have the Brick transferred to another account...
EDIT: Oh, and we tried the 'Combine All The Outcast Factions' thing, and apparently it didn't go over too well with the important people.

Not going into a debate here. Just saying yes; We do favor the Outcasts. We've always been friendly. But we don't favor them to the point that we shoot Corsairs for them. If we saw Outcasts vs. Corsairs in Theta, we'd probably shoot the Corsairs first, regardless of who started the fight. Though we would still be mad at them.. If TBH accepted a peace treaty, we wouldn't go and turn around and shoot you just because your fighting Outcasts..
On the discussion of why this should/could be an Outcast faction (made this post at school, then the internet (Safari) crashed on me...);
When the Order finished the majority of the war on the Nomads, they befriended the Corsairs, and went hostile to the Outcasts. Now, as with any corporation, this made a few happy, a few unhappy, and a few just followed orders. The Order is made up of anyone who was willing to help them. That means Corsairs, Outcasts, lawfuls, and unlawfuls. The Corsairs would be happy about it. The lawfuls would be unhappy, but not too much so. The unlawfuls wouldn't mind. But the Outcasts in the Order would be pissed. They would be pissed enough to defect and form a Outcast-friendly version of the Order.
This is of course just my idea of why it could be an Order-like Outcast faction.
Oh and there may be more Outcast factions, but there are much more Corsairs in general. Its something like 3 to 1. Also, they have the IMG on their side. That makes it like 4 to 1. And I think Bs| is beginning to help them on occasion, but can't be sure about that. If they are, then its about 4.5 to 1.
Now Outcasts have NovaPG on their side and active in the Omicrons on occasion. 4.5 to 1.5. They have AW, though if TBH accepts a peace treaty, that won't be true for any longer. 4.5 to 1.75-2. They have HF on their side, but HF isn't very active outside of Liberty/Bretonia. UOG aren't active enough. RHA is there occasionally. 4.5 to 2-2.25.
So either way, even without Bs| helping, Corsairs have at the least a 2 to 1 ratio of pilots.. I don't think they need too much to have MORE people, and some more enemies will probably be better than they would be worse..
