My current problem is related to this, so I figure I'll see if I can get the answer here:

My ping averages 156, however, for a number of hours now, the game doesn't play like the ping it shows me.

I noticed it when on a mission, the baddies were zig-zagging too much & moving in that un-natural way that tells me I'm slower than I thought.

Trying my best to make lemonaide out of a lemon I just tried to plod through my mission.

Even on my very worst noobie day, I've never taken 20 minutes just to knock out the shields.

the connection icon does fluctuate from yellow to red, but, why wouldn't my ping reflect that?

I could try to fix it if I even knew what the problem was.

any advice would be warmly welcomed. (& I hope my post doesn't come across as a thread-jacking)

Okeydoke, here's how I see it. Ping is simply the overall connection speed twixt you and the server in question. In-game lag, however, can be caused by other things...like the server's actual operating speed, which is (due to the bad memory stick) much slower than it has been.

Dunno how it relates to the yellow and red icons, though...there've been times that I lagged out, and I can't remember my ping EVER going above 200! (I'm in central Texas, btw)
