No it's not, not at all. Have had to use the touch pad on my netbook with a sat-com piggy back the last couple of days to do anything in game. Between the slow connection and the touch pad, even mining is difficult.

Combat, even against NPC's is a PITA, and would not recommend it as a PvP device.

No, get a normal mouse preferably one with good laser, different dps in order to fit your style and more buttons to use different weapons per mouse button click. I recommend Roccat or Razer or if you dont want to invest so much in mouse then OCZ- they are also good but not as previous 2.

It's freelancer, not CS / CoD.
He doesn't need that high DPS, the projectiles are big enough to handel even 800 dps mouses, like mine, no need for black mamba just for FL, where normal mouse (Unless you play on nails) is very much enough.
However, I think that it's nice to have a side buttoms on the mouse to switch weapon groups, I use it, I snipe SNACs.

one more question

i have a mouse not USB one
it came with my old computer i have a small wire which connects my laser mouse to the computer it gets activated and the lights on mouse read on is there but the mouse is not working help me

That, and if you did and yet it's not working, Try to play with the plug abit, sometimes you need to put some pressure into it to make it work as it should. (Not too much tho, so it won't break) Try to move it right, left. It happens when the plug over heats, was it exposed to the sun for long time? Stuff like that.
