Way to curb capship usage (Updated as of p.10 for less TL;DR)

Corsairs, Order and Outcasts are by far the worst capspammers. and they don't go anywhere near trade lanes in their ZOI.

Oh and Cap.Kennedy, lawfuls shouldn't be resorting to big huge navy ships to deal with a fighter or a bomber. Period. It's out of roleplay and just plain unfair to the pirates. I think my proposal encourages the correct response to most situations because you'll have to keep in mind that this applies to unlawful cruisers as well, so those pirates won't be able to call in heavy support randomly/quickly* either.

Not the fighter or a bomber but a gunboat yes, read a little about history, pirates used to use slopes and small ships, they never had a power to face lawfuls eye to eye, their only hope was to grab their spoils and vanish into darkness, that is the very essence of piracy, not enforcing their will by sheer power but by cunning and speed, to always e one step ahead of the lawfuls, and if lawfuls cant reach them in time then they are practicačy been give free reign.

The worst cap problems ARE in the Omicrons because of the Order etc.

Trust me, the LNS are saints compared to what you get to deal with in the Edge. So your suggestion won't weed out the most rotten apples.

Besides, if cap pilots have to cruise around to get anywhere, they will get all the more trigger happy if they finally arrive at a fight. They wont fancy having to cruise for ages only to not fight when they finally get to the hotzone.

That discussion, Kennedy, has grown quite cold on this server. For the sake of fair play and balanced PvP, the ships are balanced by class, not by intent of use or realism. Unfortunately, people fly the best ship, if the best ship happened to be the Liberty Navy fighter, then there would be TOO many Liberty Navy pilots and the game would become filled with those ships, prompting an imbalance to gameplay's detriment.

2 Fighters = Dead Gunboat. You don't need heavy support to take on Gunboats, even though in all of Disco's unfairness this happens on a regular basis.

Does that happen now in the Omicrons? I don't see how it would change things there, so I don't see how there can be any objection based on the Omicron capship problem. Though I do like that objection Dash and I'll add it to the Cons list.

number of pirates on the server (i think that 4 pirates on one trader was the amount) is showing us how successful pirates are even in current situation, if you make it easier for them none will trade anymore cause there will not be any profit in that, and when traders go pirates will be next since there will not be anyone to pirate, which in turn will obsolete lawfuls and you will end up with dead server.
