Yeah, it hasn't been a secret for two decades.
How do you expect to believe in peace for all, and yet also believe that humanity is superior in every way and an alien race that you know absolutely nothing about must be wiped out?
What do you possibly think humanity will exploit alien technology for? All anyone ever wants with Nomad Tech is weaponary, so you're not so peaceful afterall.
It's idealism like this that breaks the peace, just look at the Nomad War, the crusades, the holocaust, every modern day conflict in the middle east. Creating a form of hatred is rather contradictory to the whole peace thing.
Even if you just say you want peace for mankind, all that does is make you racist pricks, instead of just regular ones.

edit: Had a longer post, Imma just say give the bloke a break. No one inRP (and some ooRP) likes the nomads, and would likely not disagree with any goals towards killing them, especially considering events like the Nomad War: Nomads haven't exactly given pinkies the opportunity to be nice, and have in fact acted actively against Humans on more than one occasion. I think that going as far as to call Smoke a racist prick "instead of a regular one" is a step too far in this case, especially when, aside from killing off nomads -the evil of said act being debatable- all of his stated goals are for the betterment of humanity, which is perfectly reasonable and not prickish. Why be so harsh on him?

Semantics aside about who knows about Nomads, who doesn't, who discriminates over one species and who doesn't (Come on people, are we REALLY having that conversation? good grief).... I personally liked this idea when you first put it to the Corsairs and think there is no reason why you cant pursue it.
For future reference however, the Corsairs are a prickly bunch - there ARE academics amongst them, but they are also conceited, imperialist and generally believe they are better than everyone else, they probably wont be too helpful in terms of supplying you with information, however if you are creative there are WAYS you can find that information in game and in RP if you really want to - Dont be discouraged if people act towards your RP in a manner that is entirely consistent with their Role play - Just roll your eyes "*aiya..... Corsairs..., cantankerous so and so's...*"
You have obviously been sitting on the idea for a while and that's a good thing, rushing it wont help - the concept to me screams both Forum and In game RP - Doing both would make it quite nice. You could/should also do some reading around - you ARE a university after all:P - You actually arent the only individual/group in Sirius that believes in peace, wants to stop wars, wants to sign treaties, gain knowledge ......etc etc.... all these things exist in spades in the RP of individuals and factions in Disco and are still current, with a bit of digging you could find these folks and think of some RP to follow it up, who knows, after time they might even start helping you out. Slow and steady and most of all patience helps develop good RP and good stories which are rewarding for all involved.
