' Wrote:realy? From when? NovaPG taxed my trader on every loop trought sigma, it was once per 15 minutes. My friends have same experience. Protected traders of RHA beg me almost every day to do something with that , when Im loged in same time when is Nova pirating in sigma 13. Maybe you need to manage your people better to obey your words because you say 4 hours but reality is different and that make not very good name to Nova.
Actually, that is perfectly okay. If you are going to use the same route, while knowing there are pirates out there, you are mad (in RP) and you deserve to be taxed again.
Pirates have every right to pirate you on each and every of your runs. That means, they tax you while you carry Nioblium, and then they tax you when you'r going back with Diamonds.
Dusty, yes, well, you guys are doing that the right way.
Asking for whole cargo is just what I described (20 mil tax in my first post), and almost no one will comply.
Why? Because it's cheaper for them to die (at least they respawn in the place they bought it, faster then going all the way back, you'll agree) then to give you their cargo.
If all Xenos would do the same, there would be no need for my proposal.
Quote:instead of harassing traders ya can focus on the cap ships and start a cap ship killing faction
Oh, I'm doing both. Harassing both traders and cap ships;)
But in RP, Traders are pirated, enemy Cap ships are being killed, usually by their own fault, as they are chasing us trough whole Sirius.
Bulldog, no need for that.
4 hours rule doesn't apply for that. It has nothing to do with the rules actually.
If you pirate him once, you can pirate him again on his way back.
The only thing that is important is that he's doing another run, not the same.
That means, you can't pirate him twice on one run, but you can pirate him twice on two runs.
It's perfectly in RP, it's his fault for going in the wolf's with intention to do exactly that.
You can't enter it and expect a friendly welcome.
Edit :
Jinx, I never said that Pirates should pirate in bigger vessels. That's a big no.
As for slowing the traders, I know. I managed to pirate a Container transport in my dagger, only with CD's. Took 500k and left happy!

i dont like it when any of my guys break my rules, its not about server rules its about the NovaPG code of Conduct. they do not pirate someone every 15mins and i will have words with any of them who do it.
All i am saying is if you make a claim you better bring proof because as the NovaPG will tell you i come down on them hard if they break our rules and double hard if they break the Server rules.
so i am not flaming or upset all i am saying is, if you have proof send it, or dont make stories up that may get people into trouble, just so some one can flame a faction.
Jeah, these traders, are far from being overprotected. Get a pirate gunboat, train cruise distruptor, any kind of weapon load (try one inline with your faction) stop them for 100k tax, so the ones that RP will pay and leave the ones that don't/can't/won't open for engaging and promptly destroying...
It is remarkable how easy it works, is well within the rules, and seperates the good from the bad and ugly.

Traders aren't over protected and unless they have some sort of really good run making credits isn't easy for them either and this is what some people are forgetting.
you might also find that if you pick on the same player too many times that player may just stop playing which in turn removes one of your ways to make credits or whatever as a pirate.
as for the trade thing, personally I have noticed that on my trade window the credits are under some other text as is the box where you input the amount you wish to transfer so maybe that is what has happened with that person.
As for pirating in Cap ships, I think you would find that you wouldn't really be able to shot at a trader too often if you were in a properly setup cap ship as it would destroy the traders ship or take it to a point where it was really badly damaged into hull.
Anyway with a game that is as old as FL is you really don't want to go making too many changes as people being the things they are don't like to much change and FL needs more players not less.
Use Your Fears To Conquer Your Enemies, Then Watch As They Cry & Complain About How They Didn't Win!?!
Dunno but for me it's total idiocy from RP side going back to the same system where you have been pirated once on your route. Well maybe not then when pirates claim that you safe for instance for next fer hours otherwise it's just a sign of foolishness.
I have never complained about me beeing pirated but I never came back with the same route.
Anyway imo traders are not protected by rules. For me it's just a simple, he is not answering, you are taking down his shields, one more demand and he is not answering, you are taking down almost whole his hull, last warning and he is gone. For me it's short story.
Gotta agree with the paranoid one, no I'm not out to get you, Traders are dumb if they return to a systm and they have not negotiated safe passage from those pirates, hit em again. If they choose not to pay up give them warnings, whilst stripping them of shields, after about three mintues strip them of their hull, well almost all of it, if they still refuse to pay up smash them and pick up what loot you can carry. The rules do not protect trader, except from being blown up by the big ships, you cna tax over and over again, if the Xenos are on an interdiction shtick, if you pass through twice you'll be told to dump your cargo twice, and told to dump it every time you come through, if you're dumb enough to make yourself poor via that method, it ain't my fault.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
' Wrote:Point is, I think it would contribute to the server.
Why? Traders would hire escorts, probably, when going trough these systems.
That means some work for mercenaries.
I agree with you on this. I have heard some mercenaries offer escort services, but no one takes them up on their offer. If some factions were allowed to kill traders it might create a lot more work for our mercs.
With regards for money being used for caps...a lot of it yeah. Mostly though what my traders money goes for is to buy armor. After all, my chars are Junker and we don't need any battleships.
Personally, I think that the current Xeno policy of disrupting foreign trade is better than just shooting people up. There is more interaction, and it's just more interesting.
If we gave certain factions similar abilities, it would be best.
But I don't really see how traders are protected, and will be less protected when these factions are allowed to KoS/Demand Cargo from them...
