Splitting the server isn't going to happen, especially for graphics alone.

A simple fix for low-spec <strike>calculators</strike> computers is changeable options, for example the draw distance/ENBSeries ones when you activate Discovery Mod.

You still miss the point in which having an idea doesn't always results in said idea being implemented in game. There are engine limitations, and also people limitations.

If that was your idea about increasing your ranks.

If it wasn't, please quote it because i can't find it.

As for low fps/lag, what i know is that, if a player have very low fps, the game will run slower for him. Which means that there will be quite a lag between him and the server (and other players too). The only good thing on that would be to implement approved graphical packs, that are optionals from the main mod files, but allowed to be used on the server of course.

You people do realize that you can just do a hi res texture/updated .ale pack for people who can run it, right?

But then you'd still get people who apparently play on Commodore 64's to complain about it because they feel excluded from the graphics update.

Discovery - where "my computer can't run it" is enough of an excuse to stop all forms of graphical improvements and alternatives.

There are third party Freelancer graphics packs compatible with Disco, if you look hard enough.
