Farmers are people who work farms. The FA are fighter pilots, funded by farmers. Isolationist farmers. Or did you think that they farmed on their off days? I assure you, both farming and fighter-piloting are divergent career paths...one cannot do both, with any real proficiency at either.
So, the FA is funded by an isolationist group...since most of them are farmers, one would assume that they are samura based, which is isolationist because it is external firms that are giving it competition...cut out the external firms, it has a monopoly. So, samura is an isolationist group, if only by protecting its market: Kusari.
and if they are not farmers, they are helping farmers to let farmers earn their right..and as the faction info card says..they are restricting the sale of foreign food....is food, not construction material and normal goods..so i still don't understand why they are just going to pirate every foreign trader even they don't carry foods..

so you are saying FA is against Synthfoods.inc and trying to destroy their market in Kusaris...but i don't see that..all i can see ppl just wearing a FA tag and FA ID so they can doing "legal" piracy in kyushu even you have nothing to do with Synthfoods.inc or carrying Synthfoods.inc's product..
Samura arent trying to protect Kusari interests. They are protecting interests, those of their own. [Not saying that they dont care about Kusari, they do a lot really, but the measures arent really good, eh?]
KNF wont let FA to rob foreign traders, since its vital for commerce. They are protecting Kusari interests.
FA believe that it was the right thing to do to become pirates after they were forced out of their farms.
when you are isolationist, you hate everything that is foreign I guess. They are some sort of kusari xenos, if you put it very basically (thats my point of view anyway), but unlike xenos, they dont seems to be hated by the kusari people

In the bigger picture, if samura controls them, then any foreign trader is competition. It isn't much of a leap, ideologically, to claim: "The foreigners are stealing our agriculture, and want any number of our other native industries." Its a claim they can make to the smelters and the miners and any other industry, to both justify their actions, and garner new members, new supporters. They are a political group, and though they started as the Farmers alliance, now they are the Artisan Farmers alliance, which is a much broader group. Politically, they've diversified, and are protecting jobs. Not just the farmers, either. As such, they will garner more support.
