Is it some kind of nil nisi bene? Because i'm not really going to do that and instead i will echo aerelm's words.
In short, the ships of edge i remember most were makos and orcas, and you obviously thought shooting fighters in gunboats is the way to go, not to mention crashing the event with hordes of ships going in and out to ressuply and then back in being the cherry on the cake.
Hordes of retard lolwuts flying around also contributed to the public image i'm afraid. Well, i didn't meet EDGE much after they moved out of omegas, but i heard a lot from AGS chat. Ganking 1 fighter who tries to fly away with 3 orcas with must win attitude, resulting in cruising, eking and trying to abuse recharge in cruise to finish it? Yeah, good job, good riddance.
P.S. Also hipocricy.
[17:43:32] ???????: my goodness, Omega criminals are so noobish. what happened? i fought against two guys, [RF] came with two ships because "its there space in O7" then i nearly killed one of them, he ran away because he had no more bots left, okayokay, i fought against the others then and got killed in 3on1. after that they told me that im a noob:D
Ask bastian for screens he was bitchslapped with for lying hard. That's what happens when you make "a fusion with an independent bounty hunter group, whose members were all new and unexperienced players" just for the sake of being "able to field more than 4 ships at the same time".
Can't say i didn't enjoy killing you, but it doesn't mean you were a good faction.
Yeah, paperwork pretty much killed the game for me (thats personal opinion). Although, there's a good chance core of former EDGE will still stay around, and even become more active. Just in a different form.
Special kudos to Tau party, both IMG\CR and Outcasts, that made the game so damn entertaining. I always enjoyed huge "Combined Arms"-types of battles.
And respect to Reaver's and BHG leaders. I bow before your ability to handle all that paperwork and still enjoy the game and make your faction running.
P.S. As to our dear hessian friends (really, never had these problems with anyone but you :P ), and to those who did read what they write, here's the step-by-step explanation about the flow of events in Omegas on March/2011, the only time we fielded our Makos there. The last post on the page, if it won't get you directly to it.
' Wrote:I hear you on the paperwork - the redtape is annoying. If you have suggestions as to how to improve on it...?
Bounty boards are indeed a nightmare to run and a nuisance to claim on. However, with current rules in force, nothing can be done to improve it, except automating the paperwork using some scripting. I've sent my ideas to Cannon already, but you should know better that all you devs are busy right now.
' Wrote:So, you're saying... When a "Grab the biggest ship you can & gank all lone fighters you see then brag about how awesome you are killin lone fighters in your CAU8 gunboats" group gets disbanded, people should come in and go like "oh what a shame, you were actually fun to play with even though you played dirty" just so the community looks nice and friendly even though the same group who have posted this notice never was toward the community?
Doctor Wiki says: In sociology and social psychology, ingroups and outgroups are social groups to which an individual feels as though he or she belongs as a member, or (for outgroups) to which they feel contempt, opposition, or a desire to compete. People tend to hold positive attitudes towards members of their own groups, a phenomenon known as ingroup bias. (...) Tajfel and colleagues' experiments also demonstrate that people are likely to privilege ingroup members (e.g. by awarding them more points or money). Members of outgroups may be subject to outgroup homogeneity biases.
I don't really expect that you will be able to get past us vs. them syndrome. Therefore, I really see no point in giving counterarguments which you will simply ignore. Everything in that matter has been already said here (post's middle) and here (post's bottom). Not that it matters any more.
Edit: While writing this reply more posts came. There is no reason to write separate reply to Vladezhda. Same content and links apply, not to mention you was already answered in faction creation request half year ago.

Do not start a fight you cannot finish and then cry about gank.
I hate to point this out, Guszaban, but saying "we have fought fairly on these occasions" does not mean that it was the standard practice. A man with a drinking problem saying "I'm not an alcoholic, look, I'm not drinking right now!" is a poor argument.
The ingroup bias idea you mentioned with your stuff lifted from wiki, applied equally to EDGE as it did to those who disliked it.
Aside from that, while I didn't always approve of your methods, you made a lot of claims on the lib bounty board. You were also patient while I attempted to get someone in place who had the time to sort out payments reliably. So thank you for that.
I'll just note, the BHG ID doesn't suit a 'private army for hire', you're right. But the problem isn't the ID, it's the roleplay setup and bounty system as a whole.
