But yeah, best way to beat a GB is with another GB or bigger, like I said earlier. They're not OP'd, wait till you meet a Cruiser pilot that puts in as much work as I do with GBs... Oh the QQ that will ensue... Or perhaps you've already met Alberto Guerra:D
I have been using it a lot with the Orca, especially when fighting other gunboats. Basically just toggle cruise and fly in a circle at 149, shooting out the side view. Very hard for other gunboats to shoot the Orca from the side, and I get to use the rear turret and most of the top and bottom turrets (only the opposing bottom turret does not fire), so I win the attrition game.
Bombers won't sit there and fly in a circle trying to tank you so I usually have to fly in normal view for those. Turret steering you need to spin the camera around to keep an eye on the target and if they are flying all around its impossible. Its just easier to use techniques like boxing and anchor-reverse and engine kill from normal view. Depends on the skill of the pilots mostly but against people that know how to fly a bomber I use regular view. I'm easier to hit but so are they.
ps--shooting from the side prevents the forward cannon from being used, so that is a point of balance. Last pirate bomber I caught in the act was killed with 2 taps from the forward gun and a very small spray from the turrets while he was typing his demands. Forward cannon is dead spot most of the time, sometimes useful (as the above), but removed from consideration entirely when turret steering.
FWIW I beat that Xeno pelican with both my Orca and my Liberty gunboat. I used turret steering some but killed him with normal view both times, just chasing him down. Pelican is a transport and has max cruise speed of 140 so just chase him down. His guns only fire forward, the rest of his load is transport turrets. You can beat a transport by shooting the rear pretty easy just ask the board pirates how tough it is

Fixed that for you. Also, 3 fighters tagteaming a boat will tear said boat to pieces. IF the fighters know what they're doing.
As for some of the forward cannons on gunboats - those are intended for midrange duty against cruisers, other gunboats and transports. Not really intended for antisnub duty ('though if you can line it up properly, it can be effective in that role, much like a razor).

I tryed it uesterday with my imperator vs 2 fighters, it worked but imperator is too big to miss and they were shield running.but with small and agile gb it must be fun

Imperator is a nice anti GB GB. Try to face your enemys and you will win.
Do you ever tried Cerbs and maybe 2 Pulse or Razors?
Try to chainfire your Cerbs.

Yeah they are mostly useless outside of cap fights, that's why they should be replaceable with something else. Point is they are completely and totally useless with turret-steering since you are never facing your target.
