Coupled with the guns zoners can actually use without a nerfstick, the ship is rather piss-poor in operation. Its basically a crappy version of the RT. I definitely think 1 gun should be removed and it should be scaled down, since the zoners fight AGILE enemies, (nomads in omicrons) then it wouldent make sense for them to have a ship that is underpowered underarmored and sluggish. Defeats the point.
' Wrote:There's no reason for the Zoners to have a combat worthy ship maybe if they wanted one thats the size of the model as it was submitted It's perfectly balanced against who they should be fighting (no one)
With looking at all the current corsair bruhaha, my response is "yeah right"
You also forget Gallia kinda hates zoners.
And of course, Nomads and Wilde, who are just as happy to shoot us as everyone else.
So no, Zoners need a combat capable ship just as much as anyone.

Dusty was being sarcastic. See his last three sentences.
Quote:That all being said. For goodness sake the ship didn't need to be as left behind as it was. I can practically hear Mjolnir chortling in the dev chat as he borked the poor thing.
Or smirking, realising that a disorganized distributed civilian faction that has a bigger capital line (gunboat, 2 cruisers, 2 battleships, special supership) then most house navies and is now complaining it's got a sub-par snub.

A Gunboat, that used to be big, with a low core, and not the greatest armor - after its resize, its much more usable, but has crappy TS arcs.
One Light Cruiser
One Agile Destroyer
One Super Battleship, that cant traverse asteroid fields
We also have an agile, weaponless 5k that cant dock anywhere in house space
...and no bomber of our own.
Aet, I would like nothing but to give up the crap we dont need (and that everyone complains about) - i am of course, talking about the cap line - for a much more complete snubline, and more transports...
But I doubt thats gonna happen.
*shrug*
EDIT - And yeah, I know he was, but truth being, Zoners have enemies, and a need to protect ourselves. I'm thrilled we have our own fighter now (and a beautiful one at that). But we need our own bomber, and a tweak to bring our fighter more in line with the performance curve.
EDIT 2 - I always seem to forget the Aquillon, don't I? So yeah, a carrier with poor weapon arcs - I have no idea how it's fared in the update, so it may have gotten better.

That should have no real bearing on the balance of their snub and, in fact, any ship should be balanced well regardless if their faction should have the caps they have or not.
Making it suck just because of that is, frankly, stupid.
The first picture seems to show the current (update 3) downsized HF fighter with the Osprey so it's entirely correct.
What was not correct:
the osprey has:
- less energy
- less armour
- <strike>same handling</strike>, faster handling
It's actually the fastest 7-gun VHF now, if it's fast enough that's another question.
Imo the size is just fine combined with that profile and 7 guns. Even now the narrow parts look like made of paper and unable to support any weight specially when there are guns and turrets hanging everywhere on them. The pilot might have some issues if the cockpit gets any smaller as well.
The exact handling stats could always be tweaked, how much I'm not sure about. Would be nice to get more opinions.
One thing that slightly prolongs any work that should be done on it is the fact that suddenly this ship can mount 4 more different guns, some of which are one of the best in their class.

This does remind me of some particular period 3 years ago when OCs complained that Sabre has too small powercore because 7 guns drain it too fast.

Dusty while you indeed are great at trolling doing that (and only that) in every thread related to ships/guns where you post gets rather tiresome and adds nothing to the discussion.
