If a pirate asks 1 million of any of my traders, I'm happy. I'll pay instantly. The problem is the average demand in the last 2 months has been 7 million. That's the demands I've had, averaged.

Just remember there's someone on the other end. If you demand all of their cargo because you think they'll whine anyway, you might not be right.

Personally when I'm pirating, I pirate for 1 million or less. Because I play pirates for the RP, and I don't like people being upset as a result of me. If I want to make money, I'll log on my trader.

As for cargo piracy, I've just had people sit on the sale point side of gates / holes at the end of a long run. It's worth it. But I'll tell you what, make an over the top demand, and you'll get a runner, or if the trader's smart, some very charred cargo.

QFT.

There are unreasonable demands, and getting all cargo from a ship is among them. If you demand all cargo from a trader, he will run 100% of the time... and with a very good chance will blow up his cargo instead of giving it to the pirate.

Treat other people with respect and reasonably and all will be fine. Do not, and we will have a crapload of threads complaining either about pirates or traders.

Is it so unreasonable that a trader would be able to fight back? Those transports don't have guns for nothing.

Robbing trader and then selling stuff at the same trader's destination? Thats how may house criminals work, but not factions with their own economy and industry (like hispanic ones).
I know it's supposed to encourage cooperation with junkers and other smugglers, but it doesn't make sense inRP.
Even more: we all are humans and are looking for good gameplay. Player who is asked to help you with delivering stolen stuff doubtfully will enjoy it much more than from casual trading, while profit out of it will be lesser - i bet that is why it's so hard to find one.

Simple solution to cargo Piracy. Deliver to base that is same faction as your ID/IFF. IE ALG deliver to ALG base. Guess what? Pirate demands all cargo, you give it to him, then he lands on "your" base to sell it, You report him, he gets sanctioned. Remember rules lads. Cannot land on base of person you are attacking/pirating. So give up cargo, and follow to base as you RP landing there as it is home base.
That will weed out the lolwuts.
Plus traders delivering to their bases just makes RP sense. I know my junker always lands on Junker base in NY with artifacts, and not Manhattin. Why? Because it is RP.

Here i meant final destination of the cargo, sure thing evil pirate ship will not land there.

Thats prety much junker work to deliver illegal goods from junker bases to lawful ones via bribing lawfuls and stuff. JUNKERS are the main mediators beetween outcasts and cardamine addicted, for example.

Cargo piracy rocks, its also quite profitable if you know where to do it.

High demands make traders to resist, hire escorts and pay bounties for example.
And that's good
