Corsairs have every right to blockade/attack/pirate/pillage Cambridge, lets not forget that the Corsair NPCs attack targets in Cambridge all the time and the long standing war with Bretonia gives them plenty reason to run attacks there...
Infact im pretty glad the Corsairs have started hitting Bretonia again, activity there has been needing this, before the last mod update when the trade routes got messed up and the Cambridge - Theta route got nerfed Corsairs used to hit Bretionia all the time and no one moaned then .. Just a shame I wasn't there!.

Its not really that they're pirating in Bretonia, that would be fine, it is that it is a full fledged military action for an unjustified reason that is being handled poorly.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Unjustified? im not sure about that, one of the Corsairs main goals is to expand there territory into Bretonia space.
But i wasn't there so I don't really know the full details of what went on, normally if the Brotherhood was to plan something big like that then we would contact the Bretonian factions and make an event out of it.
Personally, I think this is awesome! Bretonia gets more action AND I get to go blow up some BPA in my Titan (no offense guys).
Nothing wrong with this, unless they are sitting right outside Norfolk/Cambridge. I have been seeing that all the time on my Gateway/BPA/QCR, and it's pissing me off.
I'm reluctant to get involved in this, but I need to say something in suport of a fellow faction member who is having a dispiriting and disheartening experience because people are throwing their weight around.
Whenever any corsairs turn up in Bretonia space, there is ALWAYS a capship in tow. PLUS they came right up to New London yesterday. That was ONLY to start a fight in my opinion. Even when the BPA was engaged in a genuinely intelligent piece of RP with another group, pirates started firing off shots without even beginning to talk.
I find this unrealistic. I think the idea of a blockade is a convenient and poorly thought out excuse to PvP anyone in Bretonia. It turned up suddenly, and the motive only emerged after Bretonian ships started being destroyed. Where was the list of demands? There was no real evidence that this was being staged as a RP event.
Now I enjoy a good fight as much as anyone, and I dont REALLY care about losing. But if you think this is promoting RP in Bretonia, I think it will end up just doing the opposite; the lawful factions in Bretonia are not really advanced enough to even begin to deal with this; the lawfuls in liberty are growing, but they really don't have to deal with being within such close striking range of an oversubscribed faction that has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of capital class ships. And I speak as former corsair myself. Honestly guys, i mean how many Praefect cruisers were built? AND i dont think anyone can really justify corsairs moving thru Bretonia in Order vessels to kill gaians, as i witnessed last week, considering they are allies.
If people see that a pirate faction (and the corsairs, despite all the talk of food and medicine for their homeworld, are criminals and not misunderstood nationalists) wields its power so freely, Bretonia will just die as a RP venue. Pirates are used to demanding money and killling the weak. They generally have little scope for RP in the hands of the inexperienced (I include myself in that, that's why I dont pirate).
I've started characters here because I find there's opportunities to expand beyond the Liberty RP cluster. In LIberty anyone can access the finest equipment; advancement is no real challenge. Please give Bretonia as a RP centre a chance to get off its feet before the wars start.
And people, please give the cap ships a rest. Cosair+cap ship = disaster for everyone else. The BPA flies Hussar Light Fighters, Bretonia factions have tight controls over cap ship ownership for RP reasons. It might be an idea for you to do the same. Part of the root of this problem lies in the ease with which capships are acquired in Omi Gamma - mission after mission nets you up to 1mil credits a go with ZERO chance of failure once you're in a GB or bigger.
The increasing number of mercs and BH's as well as traders coming thru Bretonia is encouraging. More people want to ROLEPLAY here. It's actually possible to build relationships with other characters/players here. I just can't see the long term goal behind this action.
Plus a blockade, historically, is blocking access to a port, not using it as a free-fire zone.
Athenian, there is nothing TBH can do about the cap spamming. It's because there are so many independant Corsairs that think flying cap ships is cool. If they didn't RP, shame on them, but you should make an SRD bomber to respond to this stuff. As Mjolnir said, Corsairs have full right to attack all of Bretonia with a battlegroup. But they should balance it out, because BPA just can't fight that stuff off. Call UoG over, they'd be glad to help (we have two cruisers).
90% of the Corsairs I see in Bretonia are in Handbags. Maybe it's because I'm the Cash Cow and every single Corsair here bloody hates me, but they ALWAYS show up in Gunboats. Now, I can get over that for five minutes, but a Pirate faction should not be sieging-note that a siege is a drawn out blockade of a planet or system, meant to starve the population into surrender-a House system, especially one with a bloody Battleship a single Tradelane away from Cambridge, with another one stationed in New London ten minute's ride from Cambridge, and another in Leeds twenty minutes away, and another in Dublin fifteen minutes away, and a whole planetfull of police fighters and military vessels. Strictly speaking, in-RP, this is Powergaming already. Oh, and if it continues I might be bringing down an aide package, because I am SO sick and tired of seeing bloody Handbags every time I change course in my Train (time's up). Honestly, people, BUY AN EFFING TITAN. The thing has tons of armor and a huge power supply, is ten times as maneuverable as the Handbag, and Trains don't even have missiles.
EDIT: Oh, and I should make it clear that it's usually an OPG showing up in the Gunboat. Sorry, guys, but that's what I've seen...Oh, and my RP isn't 'P*** Poor' if I get a '2 mil or die' line and then silence until I get blown out of space trying to bargain.
