I'm going to consider getting a jump drive for GMG's barge. We got this nasty obstacle known as explosive clouds that do more damage then any mines I met in-game. The shields a barge can use goes down and due to the sheer size of the barge the explosive clouds make impressive short work of the barge. Seconds. No /stuck command works for that situation so Im gonna give one of these jump drives a try.

It used to be easier when the barge was faster but yeah, now its pretty much impossible.

Barge + Jump Drive = Profit?

Or maybe using a jump drive to move a barge for trading purposes would be uneconomical.

Just throwing that idea out there.....

I hear the jump is insanely slow so it doesn't cut time. But it does help get past the many many obstacles a barge faces...I hope.

Yes, I believe it does take some time for the jump drive to charge, along with some resources, the thing is, think how long it takes to get *anywhere* with a Barge....

Using a jump drive to move a barge somewhere, especially if that somewhere is a long way off, could significantly reduce the amount of time needed to move said Barge by 'normal' means.

I'm guessing the data in the post was correct at the time it was made and hopefully it is still correct, but don't quote me on that. :P

Not at all, it takes 3 minutes to jump with a JD MKIV.

I tried to jump a barge along but it failed, needs more testing to find out.
