As for the IFF and ID combo, I am aware that this creates issues however all ships that are going to use the Pirate ID (thus not being undercover) will also have the PLM| tag on them so people will easily identify them as members of the Movement.
Regarding recruitment, I'd like to see more feedback from the community and if a substantial number of people are interested, then we will be able to move on to the next step.
Oh, don't get me wrong. There are many people in this world that blame other people for stuff with no basis or due to misinformation or misunderstanding. I don't see any reason they can't be upset with OSI or TAZ; I was thinking more along the lines of shooting those that would support you being a bad idea. That stuff, however should be role played out.
As far as recruitment, drop me a line if you need peeps. I'd join up as a peon. I've no desire to lead or anything. Already bound to to many other groups in that regard.
While the one system ZOI restriction is a neat idea, and looks good on paper. It means you literally have to wait for things to come to you. And Penn, as far as I remember, is a very 'backwater' system with very few routes that run through it. Even lawfuls would probably avoid you unless you sat around for a few hours and they had nothing else to pew at.
That being said, I do like the idea of this faction. However if you're fighting for the independence of the zoners of Penn, how would you react to civilians who support you (with or without monetary funds). Or even independent zoners?
While if there is one faction that can supply a system it's the Zoners, being limited to the Pirate ID will cause problems. If it ever got official it could easily go down to one ID, but as it stands that is going to cause nothing but problems. It seems more reasonable to use both the Zoner ID and the Pirate ID depending on the orientation of the character. Every faction needs support craft.
As for the ZoI, it's going to be pretty hard fly (without jumping) to Baffin/O49/O74 given Pennsylvania is completely surrounded by Liberty. It makes more sense to make the ZoI Pennsylvania/New York/Texas, and possibly California. Even though Pennsylvania is the only goal of the faction, so few resources are kept in (let alone based in) Pennsylvania that it pretty much nullifies the faction if the ZoI was just Penn. Now if you want to invade and hold Pennsylvania that's somewhat doable with the ZoI but not practically. I just don't see it encouraging membership.
From LR- perspective..... Well now that's a different kettle of fish....
We're at war with enough people, you'd find that it would benefit both your group and LR- if you worked out an agreement with us. Zoners have cash, pay us off to leave Penns off our hunting grounds, and more as a recruitment centre.
Because in all reality, starting out with no friends is going to make life hell for you. If we're not friendly, then at least neutral to ensure you have some sort of lee-way in your struggle to gain a foot hold. We'd be happy to say no too pirating in Pennsylvania to our Rogues, and we discourage anyone else pirating anywhere else in Liberty as it is.
ZOI - IMHO, one system = bad idea; limiting your encounters to noobsville will grind down your members quite quickly. trying to pirate new players is an exercise in futility - see the utter disappearance of fletchers [demons]. perhaps boost the fighter's ZOI to include texas and california, both accessible from jumpholes, but have an edict preventing anyonje going to NY.
for traders - suggest freighters only, and ease the restrictions on zoi, but not lift them all together - they only need to go to the nearest non-standard sell-point for a commodity, not the best.
diplomacy - you've not listed anything rheinland. IMHO, pennyzoners would keep an open mind about the war - and might secretly support it if there was a deal for them to get their system back. this would give you access to the equipt you require. and smuggling is FUN, and would provide a good antidote to the terrors of trying to RP with RU RUS))) players. Also, Xenos Rogues and Junkers deserve a special mention cos they have bases in penn.
ID - FL's cannot pirate, but Pirate ID's find it hard to trade. and you cannot have more than one ID in a faction. having 'spare ships to trade in' is a little... meh. you could rock with the same id/iff combo, and trickle out to the beaumont base in texas, and then you'd stay on the same tag, making life more interesting, and ensuring your faction doesn't get activity warnings from his holiness, the very reverend delboy.
