This is not the 0.8.0 beta. It's 0.7.5 with HDR and physics turned on.
Who knows how far away the actual release is, considering there's a bunch more tanks they are/have added.
Both physics and rendering engine (that is NOT about the HDR, but the lighting system and graphic improvements) are both two of the main features of the 8.0 . It's reductive to consider this version as a 7.5, and a little out of track to consider the graphic improvement as "HDR".
But of course you were already biased against it, so i assume talking about it in a reductive way is part of what you think about it already.

Two of the bigger features, sure, but it's also missing more than half of the other features that have been announced for 8.0.
Wargaming itself said very explicitly that it's a physics test only.

I've already come across a ton of situations where being able to access places I previously couldn't has saved my ass and allowed me to manoeuvre around enemy tanks much more easily.
On the NA WoTs forum there are a few vids of the new physics in action. My fav being a T-50-2 jumping off a cliff at 72, and hitting ground at 106KPH, and insta boom.
Many on forum are yelling this make the KV5 now OP as it weighs over 100tons and go's 40KPH. Ramming at that speed will insta kill all lights, and alot of meds. 1 vid showed a KV5 ramming a Batchat at 40KPH, and doing 1200 damage. Makes you wonder if that was the real reason they stopped selling the KV5.

Sure, there are a few extra places you can go, which in general are only useful for lights. That's hardly something that upturns the strategy of playing the game, which is all about maneuvering around the enemy in the first place.
I will have to agree, the physics do not really add anything too new to the game.
However, heavy vs heavy battles are something else now. If you play a lot of CW, you often find yourself facehugging and 1v1ing someone, usually this is done well with an IS7 because of the front of the tank. Now if you ram someone, you can easily get away or push him into a position to shoot his front from the side. It will require some time to get used to and find a way how to evade it.

I cannot wait for the first med to try and face hug my T95 now. Just turn,and shove his arse away, and poof! Plus i been ramming with my KV5 for an average of 500 damage with controlled impact. Just wait to see what it does in 8.0. Or that med that gets infront of my MAUS going down a hill to stop it? well now it is roadkill with controlled impact.
I have seen in 8.0 tester a heavy shove a med up a cliff so its gun was pointing at ground. He then just started pummeling top of meds engine bay point blank with no return fire. Was dam funny.

Does not work with the T95. It seems that the engine on that tank has a very poor weight to power ratio. You get stopped if someone larger than an AMX stands next to you.

Just had my first games on the test server, seems to be pretty sweet BUT:
Didn't WG announce that the new engine will take less resources so players with laptops can enjoy it more?
Well, comparing 125 fps (custom settings - 7.5) with barely playable 30 fps (lowest settings - test server) isn't what I would call an improvement.:(
But well, it's fun to jump with a M5 Stuart, ramming TDs of cliffs and stuff. :yahoo:
