Well, I am glad that such a poll has come now, since I am one of those order players who are not really fond of the new Hathor model, but rather miss the old one.

So I have to agree with Rodent: Unless someone models a new and better Hathor model, we should go back to the old one.

Personally I would have liked it to be something like a sleek and advanced Liberty design... just like how the rest of the Order ships were kind of based on Liberty aesthetics, at least how they used to be. I liked all the Hathor models, but I never thought any of them fit the Order.

uhm, i dont see the point here. Althought i dont play as order anymore, i can only say that they are given way too much attention... a new model just 6 months back, and their already complaining it aint good enough, despite that its one of the better gunboats ingame?!

What does order want? Why should they get all this attention when there is old stuff in dire need of fixing? Stuff thats so old, its a wonder it havent been fixed.

I vote no. Concentrate on the things that needs a immediate fix, and not something that has yet to "grow" on people...

Many people didnt like the new Ranseur model either, but hey, its a good ship, and alot of people have come to like it too... You cant please everyone, and in the past, the majority agreed that a new model (current) was the right thing.

In terms of ship models and dev stuff, i kinda like that phrase from marriages "And if anyone object this union, speak up now or forever shalt thy be silent"

I prefer the current model over the old one, definitely - however, I still dont think it quite fits, and would still like to see a change to something new. The idea of taking zoner ships and modifying/refitting them for Order use has always worked out RP-wise, but I'd like to see a little more of the order's influence in their appearances - to me, the current hathor looks a little too much like a conference.

Then again, I think the texture jobs on all of the order's ships need to be redone, to move the faction away from it's liberty origins and towards something more suitable to their role, especially now with toledo being lost and the order operating more in secrecy than it's ever had to before. While the Order did take it's initial ships and designs from liberty, that was what - 20 years ago? A lot has changed since then, and I dont think we should be using that tech anymore.

Darker textures, spookier designs - the order is a ghost organization now, it has to remain hidden. Black is used on stealth fighters for a reason - not only does it help absorb radar waves, but it's also visibly harder to see. Realistically, no ships would ever get close enough to one another for visual detection in space, but because this is freelancer and visuals do play a big role, I'd like the order's ships to look the part - make them harder to spot with the naked eye, stealthy and dark. IMO, the entire order shipline needs to be remodelled (including the osiris and the vanilla fighters) to show that the order is moving forward and utilizing all of the high-tech tools we supposedly have in-RP.


On an semi-related note, I also think the order is one of those factions that should be testing experimental weapons and tech, instead of using the same run of the mill stuff that everyone else does. I'm not saying give them overpowered weapons, but give them things that you dont normally see - like multiple countermeasure or mine droppers, torpedo hardpoints on gunboats, forward gun or heavy torpedo hardpoints on their larger capital vessels, so on and so forth.

Jinx models order and zoner ship designs. He's got one or two others out there, but he focuses almost entirely on those two factions. If he wants to put more attention on them, so be it, the other factions can find their own modellers or request something on their own.

I don't recall the Order faction asking for the initial change and we certainly didn't start this poll. Jinx likes making stuff for Order and Zoner, as Tena said.
