' Wrote:i m not 100% happy with the launch tube - prolly gonne remove it and make another one. - i very much like the first aircraft carriers that were landing decks on big ships - and not much more... but if its a carrier, the launch tube must at least look less complicated than the usual docking bay... and this one still doesn t look like it.
that ship is overflowing with modelled details, not rediculously much, but there isn t too much room for much much more. ( its allmost scratching the 10k polygons - thats not really a problem, but if you have 3 - 4 of those on one screen, things can get choppy )
so the deck is not final - and seriously - i will submit it, but i don t think it has a chance to be added. but igiss can keep it for future plans maybe - in case the RP of the order goes on. - and some day allows such a ship.
In other news, this is a great concept model, Jinx. I do have a few suggestions, namely:
1) The Nose. It looks a bit squashed and underpronounced (the original thing that came to mind was a nutcracker), especially with that launch rail up top. What I suggest is to lenghten it and make it so that everything arcs out forward more, like on the nose of the original Osiris. It doesn't have to be a solid axehead like the Ozzie but I think it should all be streamlined forward, so that hook thingie should be bent forward and the nose in general extended and made to look more solid and substantial from the front; the top section should also come forward quite a bit so the inset is less pronounced.
2) The Launch Rails. Specifically, I'd say to get rid of the one at the top and attach them on the underside of the two winglet structures (though prefferably a little closer to the hull than the mass of the winglets implies).
GREAT model.

Now i gotta start saveing up for that beautiful, perfect looking thing! Lets see... 5 mil per 10 mins = 2500mins for 1.250 bil = 42 hours of tradeing...
I guess its back to trader for me...............
:D
replacing the playermodel of the osiris? - i daresay, thats unlikely. - rather an addition ( even if he chances are somewhat miniscule ) - the osiris is a great ship, a very nice model - and very much part of the mod. i wouldn t want it to be replaced - we re still far away from modelling such detailed and well skinned ships like the vanilla ships ( the capital ships - when its about fighters, i think we re quite good enough )
thats just an idea that came up my mind after the "order threads" and their needs. - while one cannot really say that they "need" another capital ship - a small carrier might at least make sense for them to construct. ( none of their allies has a carrier class ship and one of their enemies has. ( i know - the same applies to the dreadnaught, but in terms of shipclasses, a dreadnaught is simply a battleship, while a carrier serves a completely different role ( even if the role is identical to that of a battleship in disco ) )
so, i ll revise it untill i like it - then i ll reskin it, give it up to 22 turrethardpoints ( so that igiss can choose from the turrets he likes, not to really give it 22 turrets of course ) - and then submit it. the rest is up to igiss.
anyway - its a fact that the order has huge shipyard facilities in their guard system that are not really used much ( when we consider the osiris a rare and sophisticated ship ) - so it might be likely that they produce other ships there, too... especially since the osiris really is produced at tripoli shipyard anyway....
yeah, Evora shipyard...
This would be an addition, the Osiris serves as a command ship that can "cloak" (quote on quote) and is good for doing fast, but hard strike missions.
This would serve as a base of operations for missions away from home, a place where fighters and bombers can be carried long distances too and be able to assault their target freshly supplied with ammo etc.
