Before you spend all those credits, I suggest you send your Rogues to Magellan to train with The Lane Hackers and Hellfire Legion.
Its gotten to the point where we just laugh when we see capships headed our way.
I can tell you from experience that you definately do not need capital ships to blow up capital ships.
One bomber, one VHF, and one LF can disembowel a dreadnought. Just look for the Goliath's wreckage in our message dump.
Deny the arms race. Trust me, it can work.

It's not the caps so much that are the problem and I can assure you you won't see the bigger ships out all the time, there will still be restrictions on their use. It's more the recent trend at winning at all costs. The missile gunboats being an issue. When the LR was granted official we were thanked for heavily restricting capships. However recently the propogation of gunboats both within the official lawful factions and with the independents is forcing us to do something. Whilst I would love to be able to fly in huge packs all the time, it is next to impossible, the LR has only a small pool to draw from most of us operating in wildly different time zones. We can normally muster two or three at a time. Unless we really try. When they are chased by an entire pack of caps including GB's it dilutes the fun heavily. Inactivity will kill my faction and I will not let that happen. I gaurantee you will not see new recruits or even older Rogues flying GBs, and we are not increasing our destroyer amounts. It is simply one BS and four more gunboats, all active in different timezones. Plus an upgrade to better fighters for the higher ranks.

Additionally you have to understand that the LH can fly Sabres and Falcata's as a matter of course. The LR VHF of choice is the Greyhound, and our bomber sucks bad... As it stands there are only two Barghests operational in our fleet, one GB, and two dessies. That's it. The barghests are useless, and our VHF's have more armour but lack firepower. We can't compete against the capspam as it stands. Even if we got a squadron of uber bomber pilots. The platform we stand upon is just too shaky. We need some grunt and that's what this is designed to do. Give the Rogues some teeth.

Del, if you need a competent bomber pilot I'll draft a recruitment post right now, or just make an indie. Best of both worlds, show them the fury of heavy capital ships as well as be able to tank the fair(er) loadouts.

and I fully support this, make the LR active again!!

Your forum theme that you use restricts the width of the forum, that combined with a small screen resolution might be the problem. Try a different theme or bump up the res!

edit: i know you use the theme Blue Solution, i tried switching to it and it leaves half of my screen unused.. eww... The other three themes all use full screen width blue solution is the only one that does not, weird.

Del, OC bombers, remember the Falcada boys? They used to cause some good trouble in those when in teams of two or more. I miss those guys.. *sob*

We will be geting some falcata's in fact I placed an order for them with the 101st earlier today. They will be going to the same guys as is getting the GBs, so it'll be one or the other with falcata's for preference.. Honestly this isn't going to turn into all LR cap fests. It's just caps for backup. Not everyday use.

Sovereign it don't matter how competent your bomber pilot, they have to deal with the second worst bomber in the game. The barghest is leagues below almost every bomber except the waran. It blows. truly it does.

True story, I wouldn't trade my Preagle in for one.

Warran < A man in space with a baseball bat < Barghest < Thor(according to rumors) < Preagle

Hi Del, I'm behind ya too !
I'll keep flying my VHF and pirating as I did, But I start to be tired of fleeing each time I see a SA/LSF entering the system, 'cause I know I'm no match for them...

If I understood well, this would consist on a support ship staying quite far, enough not to be charged of pirating in BC, but also close enough to come in case of problem... That's it ?

OK for gentle RP, OK for gentle PvP too. What do you prefer ?

Save your credits...

Numbers, a few fighters to hold off other fighters and bombers. And a few bombers to hammer a lawful capital ship or two, and a gunboat for effect.

Its all you need. The money can be put towards resources.

If unlawful purchased more caps, then we would become the unlawful version of the current lawfuls. It would become the new trend. We need to be setting a role playing example with RP tactics, rouges are to poor to afford big ships like that in large numbers...We need pilots in large numbers, a team that backs each other and combined unlawful forces from the boarders and we are set...

Do you see my point?

Yup. Exactly. Hanging in space waiting in case of trouble. Nothing more. Not part of any piracy. Not running into NY for a bit of a laugh.
