I don't know how possible this is, but how about we just make it smaller and faster turning. that way you don't have to find a new place for a turret.
I also like dops idea, but only from the point of veiw of greedy "I wants it!!!" kinda thinking. so its probably not a very good idea.
however a forward gun of some sort might be the right thing for it and there is nothing more outcasty than aan inferno. maybe it could be mounted under the cockpit.

I'd rather have ships brought to consistent size parameters throughout classes instead of making more crappy small sized boats like that sw-ish rogue gb. But that's just my opinion.
Trident is a maneuverable gunship. Yes, it's rather big but also with a learning curve. I'll need a few volunteers to test it against other gunboats on a private server, average or above average skilled pilots, having skype is mandatory. For now scheduled to this weekend. Apply in PM, please.
That would be the ideal solution, but that would make the guns look bigger, which we're trying to avoid, AND we would have to mess with the hitbox, which is a no-go zone.

It's a funboat of course! Seriously, what is it up to you? Because other than the assumption of the first one being lighter version of the second type there are no specifics laid down as to the amount of armaments, proportions, no difference in shields and actual things like that. Pretty much loose definition there, or to be more accurate: none at all. So, whatever it be, it's a ship with a turrets and shields corresponding to gunship/gunboat/funboat/etc class of ships.
Alrighty, last update here, folks. I finished the ship, made icon, tweaked the stats and everything, added small glowing lights around the ship to make it look even prettier. And final delicious accord: when it dies you can see nice explosion and its own parts flying in all directions, looks so nice I kept crashing into Malta more and more just to see it again! Oops, we have only few more prototypes left here.:)
I've sent the whole package to Igiss. Now all you peeps can do is wait for the next version. When? When it's done. 3D Realms. :-)
