In between Liberty and Bretonnia isn't a sovereign entity. On that note Disco didn't make GMG a sovereign entity, it was always that way since the original release of the game and nothing has come up in Disco to end it. The other is the activity logic. If both houses are starved for activity, I don't see how swapping spaces to patrol will alleviate that. Starting a war over 13.....now that will provide the activity you are starving for (bandit).
Kusari is too crippled and it isnt very effective for the RM to fight two fronts. I would personnally welcome the de-sovereignization (is that even a word?) of GMG space and then splitting it up between Rheinland and Kusari with GMG being forced to submit to Kusari law and effectively becoming the third / fourth kusari company. But considering that the Devs threw the storyline of Kusari all ways but the ones that makes sense its gonna be hard. Since why would Kishiro declare war on the GMG? even if Rheinland wants it. Samura makes for such a better antagonist / protagonist (depends on which side you are on)
I had a very pleasant encounter with a KNF destroyer in frankfurt. We had a short chat about things, and witnessing an 'interesting' encounter between a junker and the KNF ship. No pew or anything, but it was interesting and a little amusing.
While it may not exactly bolster activity, it does provide something interesting for traders.

yeah, we all know that GMG are Gods and can annihilate even Royal Navy, like it did with the strongest military in Sirius 300 years ago.
I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic here, because their last achievement was on exactly that scale...
No No, GMG wasn't even there in the 80. It was all handled by Kusari. I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic here, because their last war in Taus wasn't about helping it was exactly them doing the war.
You never did want a war. Ever. You wanted the Devs to write in Kusari's control of GMG without any effort except ranting on the forums your belief GMG was never strong enough to hold it's ground despite historical lore saying otherwise. This has always been a false point of view held by that tiny minority that makes up the roster of all dem factions in Kusari which is why the forum ranting hasn't been convincing to the devs. Also calling us gods because we won a war against Rheinland in the past is quite the hyperbole. Vietnamese gods too? Quite the mighty slap they gave the US. Nah, not gods, just good tactics in an extreme environment that supports the tactics. If you wanted Disco to make a growing change that's evolved from Vanilla, a vision in which GMG gets subdued by Kusari and ruled as a house corp, your going to have to put more effort then forum ranting lacking evidence. More then logging off at the sight of combat and being relegated to mere forum personalities to make subjective arguments. Enough with the shortcuts.
@ Yao, I'll poke GMG|. I stepped down over a year ago when I became admin.
One thing you can always count on with the 80 year war is that people will take an over simplistic view of the conflict to serve their view on events.
That's ok, it works with human nature.
Needless to say that it was 80 years of hell for the participants involved and the history is where it belongs.
It was a conflict that proceeded the way it did because of how things were at the time and if that war happened today, it would be vastly different for so many reasons.
I personally don't see a problem with the treaty between KNF and RM.
Sure there are views that it might adversely affect activity by simply moving ships to a new house but it also gives a fresh feeling for those involved and I think it is worth a try.
As usual trouble makers can be dealt with on a case by case basis and everything can proceed as usual.
I am glad that it was not decided to try and keep it official only, so kudos.
