Also the thought also comes in that you can just spam that making more and more characters with 100 each spawning in.
So i disagree with starting out with tones of money. I think you should start out with a decent transport and work your way up. Or even mine. Thats how i did it.
Yes but why does it matter? That's the thing. Who cares if you have billions and can buy anything and everything. It's all gonna be rolled back anyways.
But in the end, the devs will do what they wanna do. But you just have to understand that players aren't going to waste their time on things they don't find worth it. And to new players, grinding their asses off to make money to even buy a single fighter is simply not worth it if it's all gonna be rolled back anyways. Let people skip the grind, and more people will play, the more people who play, the more bugs that are found.
P.S. You can't mine because that's disabled, and you can't afford a mining ship anyways. You also can't get a decent transport as everything is far far far far more expensive than your dinky civi shuttle. It's hours upon hours of grind just to get the least expensive ship you can find, which in the new york/penssylvania systems is around 1-2mil.

I thought you ment keeping this AFTER rollback too.
NVM then
Yea at the moment because your gonna loose $$ anyway i agree.

Just out of intrest, why?
Be honest here, if you joined a mod that looked fun only to find out it'd take you days of hard grinding just to get a cheap ship, and then it'd all be rolled back and you'd have to do it all over again, would you bother?
The players defending the grind here are the ones who don't have to grind, as they have millions of credits, many characters, and all that. They're not the ones who have to grind trade routes in a civi shuttle that has like 30 cargo, or whatever it was. It's like doing trade runs in a snub fighter, not exactly gonna let you buy new ships very quickly. What reason do I have to waste my time doing this?

Yeah, I meant right now, during the beta phase. If I knew my stuff would last for more than a couple weeks I'd be willing to grind my way up. I've done it several times before on Discovery, I'll do it again. But not if it's all gonna be undone in a couple weeks rofl.
Yes in terms of promotion of the server, clearing bugs, and just having fun with it again its a great idea. Get everyone out there and have fun with the server. At the moment its dead because any progress you do will be erased. That also includes the selling and buying of ships and equipment and such.
@Colt556 I`m also against starting with the amount of 100,000,000 credits since then you will sit around in space and clone characters to make money.
If you don`t like to start from the bottom, get a loan to get a big transport ship from the start and done but IN NO WAY do not put 100,000,000 credits as starter money.
