Quote:Since this 'bug' came along that caused all mining fields to be reduced to 1 unit of material per 'can/rock', the Bornholme field has been literally empty. We get some OORP bounty hunters that fly down to loot the wrecks in the field once a day, and that's it.
From that thread :
Quote:I just started trying to mine the scrap field at bornholme again, and I'm only getting 1 peice of scrap metal per can...
Back before I 'quit', the cans at bornholme would regularly drop 18-36 or so scrap metal each...
This severely screws with the faction i'm trying to start, as our primary income is from that scrap field =/ What's causing this? new FLhook changes?

The issue with mining is being looked into, however it has arisen from the new FLHook cheate plugin which enables us to prevent an awful lot of cheats without having to be physically present and without the players having to be extra vigilant, it's hard to speed mod when you die after 20 seconds of flying too fast.
We are trying to fix the mining problem, but we won't be sacrificing the anti-cheat benefits of the new FLhook plugin to do it.

If that's the case, then can we simply get mining re-balanced with 4.85? Like I said before, only getting 1 unit per shot wouldnt be that bad if the prices were adjusted to keep the same profit margins.
I also think it could help solve a lot of powertrading issues if all ore-type goods (silver, copper, diamonds, niobium, scrap metal, cobalt, boron, beryllium, etc.) were not sold at any bases, but -had- to be mined, and then would be sold for fairly high amounts of profit at smelting/mining facilities or bases which use the material to make other materials - like turning boron into ship hull plating at a manufacturing facility.
