If it were reopened, it'd hopefully be more used as a lane hacker access to new york from their main base, than as a trading shortcut. Juni 'locked' the gate in SP, but im sure the hackers can reopen it.

I have just found a powertrading route, (OMG my first) it gives you right about 10% less profit/second than the niobium run while it has NO pirates, I'll say again... NO pirates, is completed in 12 minutes (there and back) and powertraders have not found it yet... Oh yeas!

If anyone would like to know the location, write to me, and i'll sell it to you...

The New York to Magellan jumpgate will never be reopened. However, I have proposed routing the jumpgate to the Virgina system (Liberty Navy Guard), since that would be more likely and also quite interesting.
