this just in: personal skill makes ship balance very hard to argue on an anecdotal basis
(I mean, except for battleships.)
but objectively, the Coalition gunboat is pretty solid. It fires six of its seven guns forward, five of them back, and five? to either side. I think the only issue is that it only fires four up and down, so you have to stay level with your target. It had moderate levels of armor and turn last I checked, so it should be about average in fights.

yea i was also really bored but this gb should be made better.
Also why is it that the unlike all other GBs when you hit an asteroid it bounces like a LF that is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying plz fix.

I had a different idea in mind, which takes away caps from indies (except for gunboats). On that part, I can agree.
The saddest part of the Disco is that everyone, even indies with no English skills have dreads. Why not to force players to roleplay capital ship first then? I mean, there's no use in flying LF for example, if you are against crapload of destroyers.

Kill fighters with other fighters or gunboats.
Kill bombers with fighters or gunboats.
Kill gunboats with other gunboats.
Kill caps with other caps or bomber spam.
Or just kill everything with gunboats.
