Its the CORE.DLL file, its not a virus nor trojan, it should have imporved certain computer performance but it implements itself in win32 root process and anti viruses recognize it as a virus. This file will be removed in beta 6 v3.

' Wrote:i agree with nexus there.... effects only really work best when they are used rarely. - its like a reward... when you get a reward for every tiny thing... the meaning of the reward drops. - if you use extensive graphic eye candy all the time... you get used to it too much - and it becomes old.

however - its very nice. - i do especially like the jumpgate effect. ( although - i daresay that flying through it in a big ship looks just as bad as the vanilla effect )

other than that - it looks nice.

We have super effects at every spot and ultra super rarely as a reward

we have a fix for big ships, so its not looking BAD at all, it looks cool as usual

These are minimal requirements to run Plasmafire:
- CPU with 2.0GHz of frequency
- 128MB NVidia or ATI graphics card (256MB recommended)
- 1GB RAM
- Shader Model 2.0 (or better) - graphics card

NEXUS] It is very impressive how this mod has improved graphics, but dont you think you are overdoing it a bit? Some of those sun effects are an assualt to eyes....[/quote]

For people with epilepsy its certainly not recommended, but otherwise it is fine as long as you don't play 5 hours without a break...

[quote=Exile Wrote:
Same here. That's why i asked, does it have the story line enabled? Needa try that again.

Plasmafire is in beta version 6/3, there is NO role play during beta versions, no clans, no events, no story line.

"Jamez Wrote:Those graphics are just incredible. I didn't think that was possible on this engine.

*makes sure no-one is around*

Why can't we have that?

I am certainly not installing another mod and joining another server because of these graphics. I'm here for the long haul...
Thank you:)as you can see everything is possible:).

Discovery can't have this because its the dominating Freelancer server, if it has 100 players online all the time, why should it change its mod? Anyway, Discovery is orientated to cap ships, and people like cap ships:).

Uhm, no it's not. And as a member of Discovery, I must say, I find that quite offending.

Oh give him a break, maybe that's the 'outsiders' opinion of Discovery? The ability to fly capital ships is a big feature we take for granted after all.

Anyway, stop posting such awesome pics >.< it looks so purty!

I've tried %#$^loads of mods, and at least 98% of them had capital ships... It's one of the easiest things to mod. <.<

I'm sorry for the dim question , but how have you emproved the graphics so much ? I look at the pictures you've posted and I wonder if this is even the same game.

I do too. As far as I knew, the version of Direct X that FL uses (I think its 7.0, but im not sure) doesn't support dynamic lighting.

Still, the mod itself looks excellent. I think the sun-effects have been way overdone though. Bit like when I played around with the HDR lighting settings in Crysis and got a white screen with an outline of a gun....

We aren't ready to relase publicly the ways how we, or better say Firekiss, managed to improve the graphics so much. The best modders know it anyway and the others will just have to find out:).

PS: McNeo... we used to be friends but you probably don't remember me anymore:P

As a member of the FL mod community I find that stance offensive, the gathering and refusal to distribute advances is what leads to the decay of modding communities.

At least that's my opinion, with that being said I and a few others here already have a good understanding of the changes made in Plasmafire. Its good work none the less.

It hasn't been meant as an offence, but Plasmafire is one mod if you would like to see such graphics you can come to Plasmafire. If howere you prefer another mod that has something else you can play there.
We haven't got many players and it would be fatal for our community to relase modding info at the present moment.

Best Regards,
Count Cornelius
