What about its weapon systems. Our information from the battlefield tells us that the Odyssey is equipped for long range engagements and not like many other ships with cloaking capabilities for short range engagements with superior firepower.
Is the reason simply that it was built without a cloak or is there another reason and what other special surprises might await whoever attacks it?
"You have to understand that the Odyssey recieved severl refits across its career. The current version of the ship is indeed equipped for long range artilery. And it is pertially connected to the fact that during its early years it had no cloaking technology on it. But the main reason is that the cloaking device is not that frequently used in an open combat, rather in its 2nd major refit it recieved the device to be able to do long range recon missions. The risk of a disruptor device being on an enemy ship is too high theese days. So theese are the reasons why its equipped for long range combat in terms of heavy weaponry. "
I see. Now about the crew, obviously it isnt manned by rookies, but what would a potential boarding party have to fight? I am sure there is more to it than just a few mechanics and the deck officers.
"A boarding party would have to fight 500 well trained sailors who know the ship better than their neighborhood every maintanence shaft and every little corner. Plus the fact that Sader will not hesitate to use any means in order to keep the ship. And i'm not simply talking about venting the oxigen from the sections your boarding party is in no. I wonder how your men would feel when a torpedo hits the section where your men are. But it wouldn't be as pleasant as it sounds. "
I already guessed that the Navy wouldnt let anyone run off with one of their most valuable ships, but thats not my concern at the moment.
Now I think everything I need to know about the Odyssey is said. I have a few more questions, this time regarding security protocols on Navy installations.
I guess every Legionnare knows of the standart measures, a good part of them were Navy personel once. What interests me is the security system of the prison stations in use, especially the Navy ones.
Where, for example, is their "brain" if you want so, the command center that controls the whole installation ?
