Ah the good old days. You mean like crashing a bretonian battleship on manhattan right?
HMS Magnificent - anyone?
Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)
Zapp Wrote:I have recently met and discussed with Atalawohisdi the trader that flies the Caribe. Just so everyone knows, I engaged in Sigma 13. He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.
He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
Server is a lot tighter now, more numerous, better organised, OORP is actually reduced in factions, a lot.
Hell I even got away with Coladas in RM for a little while (till Dustin saw me), now that would get me smacked down in a nanosecod. My first big ship was a Mandalorian Kusari Destroyer for gods sake. And I flew it for a while before Caylith gave me the whatfors.
A lot of fun was had back then, but its a tighter ship now, and fun is still had.
But we should keep our sense of perspective. Considering what even official factions got away with a year or more ago, we should likely ease up on OORP noobs who just don't know better yet.
Del, to his credit took a lot of time last night to explain the ropes to a new guy who was quite out of tune. That approach is best, and we need a hell of a lot more of it.
Thing is, not enough veterans are givin time to guide the noobs, all we see is "anyone wanna give me money?" swiftly followed by "damn you scrounger" and they go on their way with no idea what to do or how to act, hence numerous starfliers around MH, doing Hee-Haw cause they have no idea what to do.
Open your arms and hearts to the no0bs i say. We were all no0bs once.

Everyone was a noob...or let's say newbie, that sounds nicer, but on the other hand not everyone begged for money... A lot of new people now expect to log on say " Hi im new giv money plz " and be rich enough to buy a capship ( BH BC most likely ). I'm actually happy that they have to work for it...a...few days...
For Hell's sake, it's RP... When you are first day in a new work, you won't go around asking other for money " Cuz ima new here ".For advices, yeah, but not THAT.
And about the factions, I do belive they are all around even now, with exception for the merc one, they have just new names and ...infrastrucrure. Hell knows if they are netter now, or as they were back then. But about the LN... I liked the SA more... From the roleplay side, with the name Southern Alliance, they were distanced from evil people who ride dreads around... But Nowdays... the name Liberty Navy... says " Yeah, he's ma' boy! " *Cough* Sorry.
Points on Titan. My do you remember me arguing with you over the guard in Z-21, back in times of SA? *trembles and makes a fake smile*
Oh no, I have to stop Or I'll be nostalgic again....!
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
