Also i agree with everything Athenian said.
Heh Skoko, I could pull the example of Alpha too.:P
I come alone into Alpha, go 20K up, and start to RP.. Suddenly, indies yell:
"CR CR CR in Alpha!! Everyone.. Colonials! Aaaaah!" And send a fleet at me.
Although I don't like getting ganked, guard/home systems are to be mostly defended good, so I don't have an objection there, just saying.
It's a top priority to hold it in total defense, and unless it's not a pre-arranged event, you don't really need to make the intruders feel welcome.

You also mentioned HAF as true genteleman.....letting you fight fair? thats also news to me
since 4 HAF members had no problems engaging 1 single GB vs 2 bombers, a titan and GB all belonging to HAF...sounds like a BHGs tactics
I would start talking about pots and kettles here AzzAzEllO with regards to the two man raid myself and another RoS member conducted last night in a pair of sabres.
I have seen some very honourable and gentlemanly behaviour from people within the corsair community, and I have also seen the exact opposite. For instance, Globalo using his corsair battleship to prevent re-engaging cruisers from re-entering a fight between the RoS and various corsairs in gamma, or grimly kindly asking that the various caps would stand off our pair of sabres last night, although it may not have been entirely listened to, eh Azz?
There is good and bad behaviour everywhere. I know there are a few people in the outcast community who have no problem slapping a lone cr or corsair fighter around with their RM-1 destoryers, but I can also think of a number of people who play the game with respect for other people's gameplay, and I think this is the key.

We will remember - We do not Forget - We do not Forgive
You know what Joe? you absolutely right, engaging 2 sabres with a GB was over the line
I believe that every Corsair has a right to defend their HOME system form any enemies big or small
We are here to play and have fun. Ive been a GB pilot for a long time now and when i`m out patroling and i happen to see a fight, i`m not gonna fly back to Crete to switch to my titan just to make it honorable, because that is somewhere unfair. For example while on on patrol in my titan, several BHGS BSs entered Gamma and i was engaged alone by 11 BSs, needless to say it didnt last long. Again no one is complaing, just stating a fact that sometimes that is the case. As to me attacking your sabres in a GB while other Corsairs were already engaged in a fight with you, i agree was over the line and i`ll try not to do that again.
I think there is an underlying problem with this "fairness" talk.
Picture this: Two Outcasts fighting Two Corsairs. All are in VHF's.
Now another Corsair comes to join the battle. To keep things fair the other two Corsairs needs to tell the incoming ally Corsair to bugger off. But do they have the right to tell him to not participate in playing the game?
It's two ways in this matter. One say that fairness is to keep things balanced whilst it is at the same time unfair to the player wanting to join the battle. In what way are we granted the right to tell that person not to join?
Id like people to consider that the HAF are up against a lot of diversity at present and are slowly changing the way their clan operates. Id like to thank everyone whos commented on both their behaviour and that of OPG whether that be bad or good. To be honest HAF are actually now starting to shape up as corsairs now that their initial intention has been exploded by the Combined effort of the council. Please remember that they are not in a war with the OPG. They are under notice from the council for ALL corsairs to reprimand them for their actions. It slowly seems to be sinking in and im certain soon they will see the sense of combining their efforts with ours. When they do the people who have been making adverse comments will feel the wrath of the WHOLE corsair nation.
Again thankyou for those sonstructive comments.
Gentle.

Well I think it all depends where the fight takes place. If the 2 sabres and 2 Titans are fighting in Gamma, I would expect that the Sabres would get over run, if they were fighting Alpha the same should happen in reverse. To often I hear complaints from people attacking Gamma that they got ganked. You know what? You invade someone else's home system, your going to get ganked. It is to be expected, and it should be. If I were an Officer, and 2 enemy got that close to my main base, I would execute anyone who didnt go and try to help. Fairness goes out the window to a certain extent in my mine when the fight is in a factions home system.
I see your point Zelot, but there is a problem there. If we are to always toss out the fairness gentleman's rule every time someone attacked a home system - perhaps they will eventually stop attacking said home system due to this. In a roleplay perspective thats very good, no more invasions. However, it could make things alot more boring from a playing perspective so to speak.
Say the Outcasts suddenly decide to stop attacking Omicron Gamma because we mount everything at them just because it's our home system. In some ways, i find that sad if it would ever occur.
You might perhaps disagree on that one though.
Edit: I think the term we need to look for is common sense. It is the only option to deal with such matters since every new case has a its own unique situation attached to it. Thus a rule kind of system doesn't really work, it needs to be dealt with case-by-case but you already mentioned this.
