No pictures yet, because it looks scary in it's current state, at least in the editor it does.
All the connection points sticking out make it look a little like some sort of strange pincushion.
It is also on the small side for some reason, just like the Valkrye.
I have the front half to the back of the cockpit sorted, but the back half is going to be a mission, with most of it involving building the fake motors.
I *have* gotten it to fly, that is to say it stays up there once it gets airborne.
Currently the plan is to use a single hidden motor (the 2nd most powerful jet in game) and place 'fake' motors so the thrust vector is easier to work out.
Have a look at what I have called a 'prototype' HERE
Appropriate people have been credited with the original this is supposed to resemble.
I hope Doom isn't too disappointed if they ever see this.
Located a program called HARDcmp, which will let me see pretty much all ships from whatever angle I need to and it showed me that there are many many flaws in the prototype build.
So, I'm starting from scratch and going to try and get it right this time, taking one screen shot from directly above and working out some sort of scale from that.
If you want pics of this one in flight (it flies pretty well btw) ask and ye shall receive.
It gas a fair way to go still and it doesn't help that my levels of motivation are not great atm for various reasons.
However, it is at the point where it actually flies and it looks a lot more like the 'real' item than the last one, even if I have taken some liberties with the build.
Should look rather nice when it is finished, it's just too bad SimplePlanes doesn't have textures.
As I said previously, still a fair bit of work to do and detail, lots of detail to add.
No wheels, still have some work to on the underside before that happens.
If you get on just the right angle, which you can't do in game, you can see the background through the Nyx from the front 'intake'.
The main 'engines' are fully closed in, just have to figure out if I can use actual engines for flight or not.
The upper 'engine' still needs to be closed in, it is giving me some problems working out how to do that.
The answer is 'not' at this point, mostly because I *really* wanted to get it to fly and a single central engine works best for quick flight setup :p
A few more pictures of my new shot at making the Nyx.
Right rear quarter. All engines placed, engine pods fully closed in.
Front right quarter. This is before I finished the cockpit.
Rear shot, showing engines properly.
The 'main' engine doing the work is actually the little one in the middle.
In SimplePlanes it is the second most powerful engine, the 'Blasto BFE150' and has a afterburner fitted as standard.
It is also the most responsive, giving a lot of power very quickly.
It will eventually be fully hidden. You might be able to see the afterburner effect if you look closely in game.
The other engines do actually work and are the smallest engines in game, the 'Blasto J15', but they look pretty good here and don't have any corners that stick out too much.
These ones have been size tweaked to fit the pods.
Lots of stuff to be done still, intake areas to be filled and detail to be added.
Flies rather nicely in this form too, has a top speed of about 500 mph at sea level.
